Great job here Mike. Ticked every box in my book. Especially loved the overall environment and the sculpting. This one will do well.

hallzballz6908 - I appreciate the kind words homie. You consistently support my courses, and it means a lot that you enjoyed this one. It was definitely a departure from my standard approach. Thanks again sir!

Great course here. Lots of fun with plenty of opportunities to take it on. And I couldn't help myself. Very unique feel with that ultra thick tree line too. Definitely added to the secluded feel. Excellent work man.

Love the environment and the dunes separating the fairways. Really enjoyed playing this one!

Australian - Thanks for the play and the feedback sir! I appreciate the kind words, and glad you enjoyed it. I tried to go with a unique environment, and felt that the region of Isla Mocha I modeled the course after worked for that purpose. WhatAboutAmeobi - Thank you for doing these playthroughs! I know that the community of designers appreciates them, and just like similar videos by other content creators, they benefit other designers even if it's not their course being played. Thanks again for your efforts sir!

Bunker work looks like you took a lot of care here. Look forward to giving it a run soon. And not a single rock that I can see?! Are you feeling ok?!

jwtexan - Thanks for the compliment on the bunkers. I have been working on greens and bunkers over my last couple of designs, as those were easily my most obvious weak areas in early courses. This course and Ilinalta were designed as polar opposites. Ilinalta had more rocks, waterfalls, and eye candy than any course I had previously designed. While Faro Viejo has no rocks, waterfalls, or eye candy... essentially the most boring course I could conjure. My rocks... sweet, precious rocks... where have you gone?!?!

bumping this one, Really enjoyed playing this and wanted to say that even if this didnt make the top 16 this easily was in my personal list of favorites from the contest, I thought it played really well and was really technically well done!

Thanks Q ! That means a lot bro. It's hard for me to not feel like this course was a failure. Previous contest judges said I needed to work on routing, bunkers, greens, and generally stay away from eye candy(like rocks), as it drew attention away from the course. I thought I checked all the boxes. However, it's my worst performing contest course so far, and has the least plays of any of my courses. ***Note to self: Stay in your lane.*** Edit: I apologize for the whiny nature of that Q. I was in no way meaning to imply that the courses that did well in the contest didn't deserve it, or that the judges were at fault for their selections. The courses for this contest were amazing, yours included, and I honestly don't feel like my course was as good as it could have been. I really do appreciate your kind words about the course, though. Also, previous contest judges weren't wrong about my courses either, and I do feel working on the mentioned areas did actually improve my publishes. I'm just disappointed in my performance, and being a "baby"bull about it.

Agreed. One of the cleanest most natural looking courses I've played and will play it again and again.

This course is awesome and one of my favorites. You nailed the tropical environment. You were only missing the the two guys on a moped robbing a pregnant girl walking down the street. Otherwise, nailed it!

Demonondalinks - Thanks man! I appreciate that comment from a well known player, such as yourself. InYourRearview - Thanks for the kind words man. I never get too upset about contests. However, I knew I missed the mark on this one, and was just upset when the judges agreed.

I loved this one! Well done Michael, that sculpting is just soooooo good and the environment kicks ass too. I wouldn't be disheartened with not making top 16, but I had this right up there. Nice work my friend

Just finished up a round here and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think the way you planted the trees around the perimeter of the course to frame it in was a cool design concept. I found the tee shots all to be enjoyable and did make you think about placement as far as to how it would kick off different slopes etc. Great work!

cd06 - Thanks bro! I appreciate the constant support from you. I'm really happy to see you as engaged with the community and designing as you have become since joining the forum. Look forward to your future publishes. kelownarumbler - Thanks for giving this course a play, and for the positive feedback. The trees seem to be viewed as a negative feature by some people, even though they are very similar to the real life inspiration. I'm glad you enjoyed them, however, as they are what gave the course a unique vibe in my opinion.
