Welcome to my National Treasure 2021 design contest entry, Faro Viejo! It is based on the Faro Viejo region of Isla Mocha, Chile. It plays 6,870 yards from the tips as a par 72. I focused on sculpting and land movement to generate the aesthetic interest on the course, and stayed away from my usual planting-based visuals. Because of this, I recommend playing in Default, Dawn, or Dusk lighting. However, some people prefer the higher sun lighting settings, so I tried to make those look as good as I could, but the sculpting and land movement of the landing areas become difficult to see. This will have a serious effect on play, as almost every shot has a good or bad kicking slope depending on the angle of attack you plan to take.

Played this today. Awesome work my man. Hole strategy was excellent, and your bunkers. Jeez. It wasn’t a weakness before, but your last few courses, they have just been next level stuff.
I loved the minimalist planting look around the course that accurately captured the spirit of the region.
Fine work my friend! You will absolutely do well in this comp!

Just finished playing pin 1, nice job bud. Loved the fact that you're tempted to bomb it on each hole but a long iron was the better strategy. Gl in the contest

#NoRocksNoProblem this is a great and fun track. The land undulations and elevations I think is a step up for you, done so well. Love the flat bottom bunkers with the little retaining wall around the greens. Definitely will give it multiple plays!

Lifeonaboard - Wait... did I forget the rocks on this one?!?! Must be a publishing error. HoneyBadgerHacker - Thanks man! I'm looking forward to playing Hideki tonight. It looks dope! cd06 - Thanks for the kind words bro! I'm looking forward to playing your Switch creation. I have heard it's the toughest platform to design on. Props for taking the contest leap! lucheyschoe - I truly appreciate the support man, thanks. Bunkers have always eluded me, so I have been spending more time on them. I'm glad the extra work shows! meyo - Thanks for noticing that strategy. I didn't want to take the driver out of the players hands, and instead let the player decide if the reward of driving is always worth the risk. Thanks for always supporting my courses! trailducker - Dig the hashtag reference to my rock problem. Not gonna lie... I know of at least 15 areas on this course that I would normally have put rocks! I'm pumped you enjoyed the elevations, as I spent a lot more time on them than normal. Also, props for noticing the low-key retaining wall on the flat bottom bunkers. I was wondering if they were so blended in that they wouldn't be noticed. Thanks again for the support bro!

Excellent work Michael. I agree with the great sculpture work on the bunkers, and the fairways and greens too. Had to think on many holes where to land the drive and approach. Good layout and you nailed the look of the real Faro Viejo area for sure. I will need to play again with wind dialed up to medium (10-20km) which is more prevalent in the area. Good luck for the contest.

Those huge bunkers on 10, 11, and 12 stood out to me. Really digging that look.

This was fun. Loved the environment and the planting style. Like meyo said, the strategy was subtle but well done. Really liked the green slopes and different ways to play the contours to move your ball. Definitely different than other courses of yours and well done.

Congrats mate. The sculpting through the fairways and bunkers was your best yet. Loved the short holes in particular and I think it would be a perfect CC tour course. Once again your closing holes were your best imo with 17th & 18th being my favourites. Playing these NT courses are more fun than most comps too. Best of luck - hope it goes well.

Loved the short par 4 to start with the dense trees in the background. Even loved the 2 nd hole more but maybe I’m biased as I aced it! Lol. Bunkers were spot on and especially loved the one on hole 6 by the green. Good use of the elevation changes. Great job buddy!
