the in-game course designer was clearly built to be simplistic enough for for casual users designing using a controller. i get that.
but as a hobbyist visual artist, i find the the in-game course designer tools endlessly frustrating. 4 layers of menus just to move one spline point/handle. no way to select more than one spline point. and after making a change i have to wait 5 seconds for it to apply. and it's rarely the result i was expecting.
i could spend an hour trying to refine a bunker in this game and still not get close to what i could accomplish in 5 minutes using Blender. seriously, what kind of savage thinks this is a reasonable way to work? but there *has* to be a way to edit courses in non-savage software.
consider the following:
i'm not even close to being technically competent enough to unpack a .course file in order to understand what's inside. but this *has* to be possible. and i'm totally willing to do the legwork to figure it out.
can anyone with a more technical background shed some light on where i might start? or tell me why this is not possible and i need to keep making courses like a savage?

I don't know anything about any of this stuff, but I do know Blender sounds like it could be a foodie hookup site.
