Did a search and no obvious answer.
Is there a Lidar specific contest one could participate in where it's recreating and actual course?
Or is it just enter in any contest?
Just curious how it works.
Cheers,

I'd be interested in a Lidar competition wherein someone who knows what they are doing gets 3-5 blank plots of really good lidar topography for contests to pick from (or be assigned) and then they have to build an original course on the land. Would be cool if they were places where golf courses could be built but just haven't been due to development or environmental concerns. I'm thinking Coul Links for example. Just a thought.

I don't do lidar at all, but this sounds like a really cool concept. b101 had been kicking a similar idea around re: having a few PC guys get the same plot of land and putting a course on it - though it wasn't going to be a contest. That whole topic sprang out of the "big golf" vs "small golf" topic in the architecture forum.
