Hey yall. I've been burning the midnight oil lately getting this one done before RL gets busy for me. I recently started replaying the excellent Ghost of Tsushima on PS4. I love the aesthetic of the game, and even though I knew it would be a challenge because of the limited assets available in this game, I put together what I think is a solid course. I used a few things in a manner other than intended, which is incredibly satisfying when it works out. For the visuals there is a wooden clubhouse/dojo centrally located with terraced landscaping, faux pampas grass rolling over quick elevation changes, a few hot springs tucked away, and even a climbing wall for anyone who finds a way to do some grapple climbing in 2k21. The course is called Tsushima Hot Springs. It is a fun course, but it is challenging. It can be worthwhile to examine the hole map before teeing off, especially if the wind is up. Water comes into play as well, though it is really only featured closely on a few holes. I wanted to make sure that with each tee shot the player could see as much of the hole as possible. In those cases where the flag isn't visible from the box then the landing area is where your decisions will be made, provided you make a good tee shot. Object meter snuck up on me on this one, but that seems to be the case with these open courses. I would have liked to get more grasses in the space between holes but I think I managed that part well enough without making any aspect overwhelming. Overall this course is heavy on the visuals and worth taking your time on. Rushing through will not only cost you a few strokes but you would also miss out on a some nice vistas. Let me know what you think! Realizing the vision was a fun challenge. I hope you enjoy the results as much as I do. Thanks! PC/PS4: ThePhil Twitch: DeiMalleus

I wish there was a way to pull a course back off the 2k servers. I’ve played close to a hundred rounds on this course in the past week, plus the rounds prior to publishing. Aesthetically I came very close to what I wanted to do, but I think I can eliminate a few assets along the borders in order to place more of the pampas style grasses throughout. I might end up replanting all of the grasses to spread them out more and get better coverage that way as well.
That’s my plan for the aesthetics, but I’m also wondering what people think of how the golf course plays. I expected it to have more than the 3 dozen or so plays it had as of this morning. Is it not firing on all cylinders? I enjoy playing it A LOT, but I made it for my preferences, so I ought to. I wanted it to be a fair and fun challenge. Is there something that is holding it back from getting more plays? Any feedback, good or bad is welcome and appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm going to rework a few more things on this and bring the discussion to the In Progress boards once I have it ready to be tested again. I found a much better way to approach the tall ornamental grasses for the look I want. This could take a bit to get the changes made. I still wouldn't mind feedback on the how the golf plays though.

You haven't submitted it to the database - if you get approved or Tour Worthy designation, then it gives a chance for people to find it on the main site easier - and thus potentially more plays
