I'm really in the mood for this challenge - I'm so intrigued by the geometric golden age architecture that I'm gonna try it for 2.2. Why not try something I'm not comfortable with here? Don't you f*cking steal my ideas! 🤣 That's the exact route I have in mind for what I'm putting together 🤔

The flat plot challenge is what I need, before I knew I needed it!
All of my other courses have had pretty big elevation changes and this will give me a chance to really focus on hole design and pure strategy, void of elevation . Sketched out two ideas on paper and built two plots. Laid some hole ideas down on each and using the measuring tools to layout the fairways, hazards, runoffs and such. Right now it will be around 2,450 yards.
Going to try to roll through this one pretty quickly. Still need to work on National Treasure course.

Maybe we can learn from each other? This is a style of design I really want to explore and if there's other courses like it in the challenge - all the better!

Woooooah 1 month well this is a fantastic challenge as I've yet to design anything remotely close to flat. Gonna have to really test myself to get it done in that window, but this is a sweet idea! I was very impressed with your entry for the last contest, so I'm looking forward to what you come up with! Really, I was pretty impressed with most of the courses. This time around I'm going to spend a lot longer on my entry. I was too #funandcasual last time!

oh hell yes!!! love this idea. can't wait. I was already a bit worried about the timeline for my National Treasure course and one way to make that deadline even better is to throw me another contest. i just can't say no.
I am thinking immediately of some sort of farmland idea, not sure why but just sounds interesting.

I've never done one of these contests. I found out about the last one about a week before it ended and real quickly tried to throw one together, but I never got past the first hole. I said I'd do the next one. Then when I saw what this one was, my immediate reaction was "oh crap, I can't do that". Well, after thinking about it some, I'm definitely going to try. Because, well why not?? My goal is to get better as a designer, and what better way than being forced out of what I've been doing all along? I mean, my first course was fairly flat (pretty unintentionally in fact), but it definitely wasn't only 10 feet of elevation change flat.
Here's to trying new things!

This should be interesting! And the polar opposite of what I did the first time, if I had all the elevation changes there then this will be flatter than a pancake. Goal is to just focus on basics and working on the things that needed improvement last time.
I currently have zero ideas where to begin. That's where I'm at with this so far. Should be a fairly quick change to that. I hope.

I might go for an English countryside style. Flat plot is a real challenge for me though.

It’s going to be interesting, that’s for sure... my immediate thought is that it’s going to be a challenge keeping track of the lowest and highest points to make sure you only have a 10ft differential.
As for style/theme... torn between trying something totally new and something where at least I’m familiar with some aspects e.g. planting... I’m sensing it’s likely not going to stick religiously with one fixed style...

I got off to a start. This is going to be a VERY difficult challenge for me. My other two course I have published have had extreme elevation changes. Hopefully I can manage to create something at least decent. Here is what I started this morning.

The holes I drew were totally Pete Dye style.
