Hello! Ive finally released my World Cup of Design Course!
Te Amo
Now I do want to say, by points alone I am the ultra wildcard in WCOD, like the actual 32nd seed here. This is my 3rd Course ever and also my first competition (I joined a month after rookie design signups had already closed). I have nothing to lose and everything to gain so that's why I did a lot of weird on this course and also prove I'm worthy of the slot! This course wasn't even originally going to be my wcod course but my intended one (Japan course) is still far from finished. I fought this course at first and didn't like it but slowly, through tinkering I created a course that personally I consider my best! With every course, my first goal is to create a course that looks like nothing else currently in the game, and I think I've done it. My inspirations were mainly the looks of city parks in semi-arid climates like Mexico city and Salt Lake city where they have mountainous backdrops and lots of undulating foothills. There are 3 tees and they are not manipulated (expect a tour version later on with the classic Q manipulated tees) and this course is the shortest and perhaps easiest course Ive ever made, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have teeth. Expect any kind of windy conditions to crush you, and anything above default green speeds aren't recommended. Welcome friend to Te Amo! This is no exclusive course, it's actually free with membership! We only ask that you come with us to first to take this personality test that helps us evaluate what kind of person you are. Oh, you've noticed we've been walking for a while? We have a deep network of tunnels underneath the course that we use to observe peop....ahem, nevermind that, we're almost there, just afterwards you can play the course! Do you rarely suspect the actions of others? Hiding within what seems to be a normal city park lies an organization known as "Te Amo", little is known about its members who proselytize outside it, inviting onlookers inwards towards an expansive underground facility. Only recently upon visiting, you find the city oddly empty, what has happened? Dunno, guess I'll play golf

Great course, Q! I enjoyed this one more than Asylum (quite possibly because I'm playing better now). I looked around to find any easter eggs but couldn't locate any (Asylum is still in my head). I was surprised to see a Q course without manipulated tees. You could be a force in future contests (if you aren't already).

Really enjoyed this round and it’s a properly unique environment. Greens were ramped up but always felt fair and some very fun hole designs - I particularly loved the downhill par five approach (want to say the 8th?).
Guess I can now critique your DL course 🙂

Heck of a strong group now with Te Amo joining the party and still a publish to come from some rookie called Sinbad or somethin'. Not a single boring hole to be found here. Really well imagined and put together environment that straddles that realistic/fantasy line successfully imo. A lot of fun to play. I played defaults with a low wind.

This looks great and definitely takes me back to playing such fun Salt Lake municipal courses like the Mountain Dell courses just east going up Parley's Canyon when I lived there. And there actually is a cart tunnel if I recall correctly. Here's the 360 Mountain Dell course tour online - looks like you did a nice job building off that type of environment to make the course a little more amped up, but fun...great work...

I was scouring salt lake city's courses to get a feel for the area. Promontory Club, the pete Dye course, also influenced my more extreme sculpting

cd06 thanks as always for the support! I did my own thing with this one so I have no idea what to expect people to think. dmviking I was so pushed for object meter by the end I had to delete close to everything extra sadly, because it's desert theme planting within object meter is especially difficult, luckily city buildings take close to no object meter! b101 Hole 7 was a par 5 that had close to 5 different greensites and took me forever to get sightlines on just right due to it being basically placed on a ridgeline. Im glad the hole really turned out as well as it did, Its one of my favorite holes on the course along with hole 15 (the 500 yard par 4 with the centerline bunker). Im apparently obsessed with making driveable 600 yard par 5s. @babybull your kinds words always mean a lot to me as a newer designer kinda bursting onto the scene. Thanks for always reminding me to design for myself and just do what I want to do without worrying too much about what people will think. You Rock! hehe
robn I could legitimately take last in my group and still be happy considering how much I appreciate my fellow group H designers and their courses. Having this strong of a competition really pushed me to put even more into this course than usual. Next course of mine might seem lazy in comparison lol.
