Kruger National (South Africa)

Welcome to Komatipoort, South Africa, where Michael Hamilton has been hired to design a new 18 hole golf course on the Southern edge of Kruger National Park. Started by a group of investors who originally created it's "Sister" club Leopard Creek CC about 40 mins West, the unnamed course has begun construction.

As you'll see in the early construction pictures shown below, I really want to get out of my comfort zone with this course. South Africa, after all my research, has undeniable beauty and an overwhelming amount of possibilities for golf course locations. You can choose flat arid desert, cliffside, mountainous or even jungle. In the end, I chose the Kruger National Park area which has a nice combo of flat desert areas and rolling hands and vegetation close to the low areas of rivers and creeks. The routing of the golf course is around Crocodile River a real river which runs to the edge of Kruger and will be a borderline to the course.

How much work have you already done on this? Jeez... I've only got a plot ready, a windmill, a farm and a routing I'll ditch immediately!

Love the new look you're trying for the bunkers, and the environment is good. That run off into the bunker as well... looks amazing!

Also, I watched that Yurview thingy mjhamilton113 - proud of you for the attention you are getting for your great work on the LiDAR courses. Although I have to say, I prefer your fictional work

For some reason this design and layout has come easy, it has clicked. I still have a ton of detail work to do and some fine tune sculpting, but I’m really happy with the early feel. I for one have also enjoyed working in the Steppe theme much more than I thought I would.

As for the Yurview appearance, thank you, it was a lot of fun and all this LIDAR work has begun opening a lot of doors.

How's this one coming along? Publish window opens in under two weeks now so I'd imagine it looks very different to above.

I have taken a break on this one for a few weeks, but I will be dipping my toes back in this weekend and will post some updates. Thanks for checking in!

Kruger National is now published representing South Africa. Located on the South Edge of Kruger National Park.

Measuring at 7,041 Yards (35-37- Par 72) Kruger will give you some Breathtaking views of Kruger National Park overlooking the Olifants River. As you can see in the screenshots above, the course will have some undulation and require the player to think their way around the course, rather than a grip it and rip it mentality.
