Here she is. After almost 4 months of hard work, including a major graphics card failure/upgrade, I've finished my ode to the National Golf Links of America.

A fairway wood is the play here on this "Alps" hole, but choose wisely. Do you want to hit it all the way to the lowest part of the valley, or leave it up top for a longer approach? In the right conditions, a driver will clear the water. Better to hit 3-wood and make this a true 3-shot par-5 The "Cape" hole. Chop off as much as you like with either 3-wood or driver. Deep bunkers surround this green. The "Eden" hole. The greens slopes severely from back to front so best to leave it below the hole.

The "Punchbowl," this is a long hole that has you decide if you want a flat lie in the fairway. A short par-4, best play is iron off the tee, or blast a driver up near the green and take your chances. The "Reverse Redan." For the far right hole locations, play to the middle of the green and let the ball funnel toward the hole. In the right conditions, you can hit driver over the bunkers for a wedge into the green.
Hit the narrow fairway to an uphill eagle opportunity

Choose the fairway that gives you the best angle into the green on this long par-4 The signature hole on the course, this "Knoll" hole gives you plenty of options off the tee. The "Maiden" par-3. This hole has two raised areas that can be tough to navigate for those hole locations. The driveable par-4, this hole has plenty of trouble to get into if you don't hit it straight.

Here is a "Hogsback/Narrows" hybrid par-4. Very long and the water is in play for a "slow" swing. This is the "Short" par-3 with a treacherous green and deep bunkers. Following the "Short" is the "Long." The longest hole on the course with a cavernous bunker guarding the layup. A long par-4 that will test the best players from the tee. A relatively short par-4 with plenty of trouble to get into.

Excellent job here dude! This course is just plain fun! Not a long course by any means but it certainly has some teeth. My favorite aspect of this course was the risk/reward element on so many of the shots. I found myself on several occasions hitting driver even though I didn’t want to just so I could hit a more lofted club on approach to have any chance at all of getting it close 👍🏻. I also really liked the sculpting around the greens and the greens themselves. Going pin seeking and missing led to some very difficult (fun!) up and downs around the green. Shot a respectable -5(66) but really had to pull a few shots out of my butt to get it done 😆! Can’t wait to return here to try a different pin and different wind! Great job, so happy that you got your graphics card issue sorted in time to finish, and good luck in the contest 👍🏻!

Course publish no.13. Unlucky for some. Well, I guess it is a tough group. While b101's superb Strathlorne garners much deserved praise from all comers, some of the lesser lights course threads see a lot less action, unfortunately.
I place a high premium on objectivity when I'm trying to formulate my thoughts on a track as I play it. Gotta admit, I was pretty tired playing this so imma keep it brief. Very much enjoyed my round here. The WCoD has produced yet another very solid publish into its ranks. Good job sir.

While this course looks pretty tame from the tee boxes, the greens will add strokes to your round quickly. The greens have some pretty intense movement, but still reward the well placed approach. This felt like a real course, and the sculpting fit really well with the environment you created. Overall, props sir! I definitely enjoyed this one.

Easily my favorite ViolinGuy course since Old Henry's Shipyard! The course had a lot of interesting shots on it, partnered with a really neat plot and the planting/lighting combo added for a really appealing environment. As an aside, I loved the clubhouse buildings as well. I'll definitely be back to this one for more pins.

Violinguy69 Bump I know some people will disagree with me here, but Strathlorne aside this was my favourite Group F course. The terrain is bumpy as you'd hope from a links course, but you nailed a lot of your sculpting here. Greens played really well, and the bunkers generally looked great. I think my only bits of minor feedback would be a couple of run-offs were a little too steep for my liking (holes 9 and 17 spring to mind), and a couple of the bunkers were a little deep (hole 7's was 15 or 16 feet deep) but a fantastic course overall! Planting was also really strong. Definitely up there with Old Henry's Shipyard for me. Good luck in the rounds going forward Chuck!
