Great job here. I’ll echo the sentiments of others about the quality sculpting work here. Creating quality sight lines without a lot of elevation change is so difficult to get right and you really nailed it here. Enjoyed my round immensely and will be back to play the other 3 tees👍🏻. Best of luck in the competition.

Planting is nicely done and works well with the sculpting you did. As others have mentioned sculpting on a relatively flat plot is hard to pull off.
Nice, relaxing round of golf and all holes were accessible and very open for birdies and eagles.
My only major piece of feedback is that I wish you had shown off the bunkers more than they were, you put in a lot of work in your bunkers and they are really only visible from the flyover. I think that exposing them more would have provided better visual contrast to the brown/greenish brown texture.
good luck moving forward.

Thought the greensites were just phenomenal & such a great character to them, spent way too much time between shots admiring. Sightlines from the tee are so great could've slapped a (L) or RCR to the title and I would've been none the wiser. So good. Planting was perfect, not over the top & fits the atmosphere so well and the routing tighter than dickskin. Couldn't say enough good things about Marlowe. Awesome work yet again mate. Cheers from the bush.

Alright, I haven’t bumped my thread yet so let me indulge in responding to a few of the replies so far. So damn pure. Loved every moment and a masterclass in sightlines and low-level sculpting. So immersive and for someone who gets a rep as not planting courses, this is beautiful. You already know you’re the reason this course exists. But for those that don’t, I’m notorious for sculpting 18 holes completely, and abandoning the plot because I get tired of planting. Ben saw this one at a point when I’d essentially quit the game and saw a really solid 18 holes and told me I was an idiot if I didn’t finish it, and might’ve even provided some planting recommendations to help me get it started back up. You’re far and away the person I lean on most when I’m looking for feedback. Loved the subtlety here, it’s what you do best. Classic Petty, great stuff. I always go into a course with specific goals, and this one was definitely subtlety. I’ve got courses with heaving dunes and crazy greens and blind approaches and no bunkers and ancient civilizations and I’ve tried all sorts of stuff outside my comfort zone but I really struggled with this one to just make it play as realistic as possible, be strategic without being in your face or over the top, and really be true to the environment I was trying to create, which took a boatload of reboots before I got exactly what I was looking for. I think you do this with the best too, so I appreciate the compliment. Played this last night and echo the sentiments of others. 5-stars from me. Loved the lighting providing a very subdued colour palette very befitting of this type of course. Really immersive environment. The little pockets of purple heath off fairway and around bunkers provided enough pop of colour to keep the visual very interesting. The slightly brighter white sand (perhaps?) than usual on a course of this type also created a really good contrast. No one hole or holes stood out as favourites. Just a really cohesive design which "played real" which I love. Best of luck in the contest. Lighting and textures especially were something I labored over a great deal. I can’t remember the last course I did without overcast “soft” lighting and opted for the lowlight “pop” instead. And the heavy rough was green instead of light brown until about halfway through planting. I think that was the point it all came together and I actually realized the vision I started out with and got excited about finishing the course. Just a lovely, down to earth and understated track/design this one. Kinda impossible not to like really. Literally the exact type of response I was hoping to get from this one, appreciate the play. Just really loved the environment you captured here, just awesome! It was also just as fun to play with lots of interest in the holes. I agree that heather would be a great option in the plant menu or at least something close to it, but I have to say you did a stand up job, for what options the designer has given us. Good luck in the contest! Had the idea for awhile but Ryland almost made me not even want to try and tackle it anymore. Glad you enjoyed it! Brian, You have become the master of subltety. This is a course of so many sublte things from the greens to the planting, everything is done with such an impressive low profile quality. I think that is very difficult to pull off and keep the golf interesting in a video game and you've done it. You know it means the most coming from you. Low profile and subtle is exactly what I was going for, and I agree, it was so much more difficult than any course I’d done previously, also the most rewarding when it was finished. To say I’ve never “borrowed” inspiration from one of yours would be a farce, buddy. I’ll echo the sentiments of others about the quality sculpting work here. Creating quality sight lines without a lot of elevation change is so difficult to get right and you really nailed it here. Thanks. Yes, it was a constant struggle between “is this bold enough?” and “do I really want it to be?” Thought the greensites were just phenomenal; such a great character to them, spent way too much time between shots admiring. Sightlines from the tee are so great could've slapped a (L) or RCR to the title and I would've been none the wiser. So good. Planting was perfect, not over the top; fits the atmosphere so well and the routing tighter than dickskin. Couldn't say enough good things about Marlowe. Awesome work yet again mate. Cheers from the bush. Glad to hear, nowhere near my toughest or wildest or most interesting greens, but hopefully among my most realistic and playable. The goal was always to reward close approaches with easy birdies, and punish approaches the further off target they were. Stay in the fairway and this is a very scoreable course. Miss the fairway and it’s a constant struggle to get up and down for par, as the various playthrough videos demonstrate. I can’t think of a better example of executing my design goals in any of my previous courses, and I don’t hate this one yet, which is very rare for me 2 weeks after publishing.

You’re an idiot for not quoting each of those separately. Think of the post count!

Yeah well I don’t count posts, Ben. Or likes, or views, or plays, or contest wins.

Think I might have changed my mind on the lack of heather - course still looks great and plays phenomenally well (even if my Switch only allows me to see grass from 20 yards away ). Taking a little inspiration from this for my National Treasure course in Holland. Great work Petty, and best of luck in the contest!

You just nailed the look and feel on this one, and there are some spectacular greensites as well. Love how the different tees and pins play. Class act.

Kinda resembles a golf course.... Kinda...
Kidding, My old Pal Petty knows I love his designs and this one is no different, just subtle greatness at every turn
Beautiful track bud, great work and good luck

Excellent course start to finish. This is how to make a great looking and great playing course for both a video game and real life. Easy 5*; on repeat play list.
