It's 9 a.m. on a Tuesday morning when Michelle Statham settles into her gaming setup: three monitors, two PCs, a camera, headphones and a microphone. Colorful lights accent the walls, and a Baby Yoda doll is perched on the shelf behind her. A few minutes later, she's in the middle of a digital gunbattle — one she loses. At 56, Statham is one of the oldest female video game streamers. "I don't know that many women my age that play, even in real life," she said. The Rest Of The Story

I'm 68 in April and I have no intention of stopping online/video gaming anytime soon.
Actually in the middle of pricing out a new computer build. Looking for a good price on a RTX 3060/70 or even a RTX 2070/80. (or equivalent Radeon card)
It is actually looking like a already built computer might be the way to go as the above cards seem to be about 1/2 the budget.

Had no idea you were 68. Was thinking half that.
I'm planning on upgrading myself. Was going to last year then covid hit and have just stayed away from non essential store trips. New cards are scarce right now, very scarce. Hard to find a new 3080 unless you go prebuilt.

Ahh to be 34 again. I was at my peak physically. Mountain bike racing and flyfishing treks into the backwoods of the High Sierras. Now it is watching kids on tricycles and tying flies for others...LOL. I can get a prebuilt with a 3060 installed for around $1600.00. I can get a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 XC GAMING 12GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Graphics Card for around $400.00. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 starts at $699. Adding a 3080 to that prebuilt adds around $700.00. Cyberpower PC sells prebuilts with the 3080 for $2500.00 and up. I like to look at this sight when card shopping. www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

At 56, she is a bit on the young side of us OG’s (older gamers).
The Atari 2600 came out in Sept. 1977 when I was 17. I got one for my 18th birthday a month after it launched. My friends all had one and most of us have been gamers ever since.
The grandma label doesn’t mean much these days. I certainly don’t picture someone looking like Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies with the term grandma.
There are some women in their late 30’s who have grandkids. Had a child at 16 or 17 and that child has a child at 16 or 17.
But still, good for her for streaming like she does. I don’t put a camera on my ugly mug when I stream lol.
