Course Name: Tracadie Falls
Yardage: 7,620
Hi all. I just published my second course, Tracadie Falls. It is a fictional course set on the mountainside in a tropical location. It features two lakes atop the hillside that spill out over the course in a series of streams and waterfalls before emptying into the ocean below. The holes run up and down the hillside with a few skirting the cliff's edge. The length of the course at 7,620 is a little deceiving in that many holes play down hill and the firm fairways provide plenty of role. And although there is plenty of trouble close to the playing area, the fairways are very generous and in most cases, the drive is more about setting up the approach than staying out of trouble. I would not recommend playing on very fast greens. The course plays best at the default speed of 154. Fast should be okay. Very fast would potentially be unplayable. Hope some of you enjoy this. It was fun to create. Below is an overview of each hole for those who are interested.
Hole 1: A nice straightforward opening Par 5. A drive down the right opens up the approach. Pull it left and you have with a blind approach to a well protected green.
Hole 2: A downhill Par 4 with water right of the fairway. Keep your drive left, and you'll get a nice kick back to the centre cut.
Hole 3: The signature hole on the front nine features a tee shot over two waterfalls to a large green sitting atop the cliff's edge.
Hole 4: An uphill, but reachable Par 5. Hugging the left side provides the shortest approach to a raised green.
Hole 5: This lengthy uphill Par 3 provides plenty of challenge.
Hole 6: This 530 yard downhill Par 4 will challenge your sand wedge through 6 iron, depending upon your drive placement. Carry the waste area to the right, and your drive will run out 400+. Leave it in the rough, and you've got a 200 yard second.
Hole 7: A straightforward Par 4 with a long, narrow raised green.
Hole 8: The driving area appears narrower than it really is. Keep your drive left and you'll be centre cut.
Hole 9: This first of three drivable Par 4s on the course will tempt you with its narrow opening surrounded by water.
Hole 10: This lengthy Par 4 features a split fairway. The fairway on the right is an easier target, but brings the front bunker into play on your approach. The left is tougher, but provides a great view and angle.
Hole 11: This hole features a real risk-reward off the tee. Carry the water to the upper fairway, and you've got a short, uphill approach. Play it safe, and you've got a tricky mid-to-long iron ahead of you.
Hole 12: This Par 5 is my favourite hole on the course. Keep your drive to the right, and you'll have a chance to attack the green in two.
Hole 13: A decent drive on this short downhill Par 4 leaves a short chip and put for birdie.
Hole 14: There are beautiful views from the tee of this downhill cliffside Par 3.
Hole 15: This drivable Par 4 is protected on three sides by a raging stream and waterfall. Stay dry and a birdie is almost guaranteed.
Hole 16: The entry to this drivable Par 4 is protected by a pot bunker, but you'll soon realize that the bunker is not such a bad place to be in search of birdie.
Hole 17: Many out there will be cursing this long Par 3, which is inspired by the 17th at Whistling Straits dubbed "Pinched Nerve".
Hole 18: This finishing hole is a gentle, uphill Par 5, reachable in two if you've got a helping breeze.
Hope some of you enjoy this.
