Not sure if this has been brought up or not so apologize if it has. Think this idea would be a really good and positive one for the community especially since there are so many new and talented course designers.
The idea: A Pro/Rookie Design Contest. Pro: Any designer that has had entries into the popular design contests. Rookie: Any new designer that has not placed in the top 5 of the Rookie Contest (the stipulations are open for discussion but just an idea).
The Pro’s (top 16? top 32?) get to draft their partner (rookie). Each player designs their own course and their teammate is the only person they can seek out for advice.
The catch: After the top 8 or top 16 are selected the pro and rookie will actually play the top 8/16 courses and either best team score or match style moves on to the next round etc..
Not sure if that could work (playing) due to different platforms but just an idea.

I like the partner aspect of designing and helping each other.
Rookies need to be more then just Rookie contest because those being only one a year not all new designers go into it. But I like something teaming up a top designer with an up and comer. Not sure if a draft or something like a match making thing (lolz) would be best but it's a cool beginning of an idea for sure.
I don't personally like adding in playing as part of it for advancement. But maybe thats because I never moved from Pro difficultly personally because I spend too much time in the designer haha.

Just start offering to collab with people great way to learn new things But when you don't have it on Steam I would love to do a collab but even though I'm able to design through the computer with Stadia I don't think I can share a file like you can on PC.

Just start offering to collab with people great way to learn new things Definitely will do this when I get my computer up and running again. Hopefully that will be soon though. But that is a good idea for a future contest (colab project contest).

This would be a cool idea for the PC guys. Unfortunately for us console guys I don’t think it would work due to lack of file sharing 😩. I’d suggest making the partners blind draw though.

Yeah I don’t think we should make a PC only but that’s why I think making partners where they make two courses and bounce ideas off each other and help each other play betas is a cool competition idea. I like a Dream Team guy with a newb type thing, I think that’s a cool wrinkle

Yeah, the only way I can see this work is as some sort of mentor thing unless you wanna exclude all the console designers. But at that stage, who is left to judge it?
