So I've been watching and rewatching the tutorial videos. At one point its mentioned that in the approvals video that 6 and 7s are rarely done and must be flawless. Now I'm curious if anyone can recommend some that are done properly. Thanks

In real life they're usually just done as a novelty hole, and in game it's really not that different. I believe Caldera Furiosa had a par 6, but the course was sort of designed as a "TW PGA Tour Fantasy course" and is intentionally very different. TPC Royal Fazio National has a par 6 and a par 7, but that course was also designed as a joke. Most three shot par 5s have the problem of "how do you make a layup interesting?" and naturally that problem is even harder, as you have to find some way to make 2, or even 3 consecutive layups interesting. If you want to build a course that has one, go for it! It's just if you're also trying to get that course on tour, it's a much, much harder proposition. Not sure anything on tour has ever had one.

My thoughts: just don't try them. Ever. Unless you are crazy. Or trying the TW PGA thing. That said, I really liked Lifeonaboard's Caldera Furiosa. Definitely funky!

It's not that I want to build one myself. I'm kneedeep in trying something way over my head already lol. Just wanted to see one and try one that isn't one of those Par 7 but it's done so you get 6 under on the hole type ones

Thanks for the mentions guys. The par 6 on Caldera was a really fun design challenge and like MattF said the difficulty mostly came down to make each shot interesting and meaningful towards your score on the hole. My initial plan was to try to make it so that if your first 2 shots went well you would have a long shot into the green and potential eagle opportunity with a miss hit making it almost impossible to reach in 3. The end result though was that it was pretty easy to make it in 3 but you would have to position yourself for the best approach angle into each pin. The green was designed like 3 greens stuck together and the front was guarded by 3 steep bunkers. The fairway was all over the place with several different paths to position yourself for a clean approach shot and several friendly layup zones. No one ended up ever using the early fairway down to the right so that ended up being pretty useless but the rest of the fairway sections I have seen people use in different combinations so that part mostly worked. One other interesting design feature that worked as a sneaky shortcut was to purposefully aim at the cart path off of the tee for some extra distance. One time in testing I managed to get the cart path bounce on my first and second shot leaving me with a pitching wedge into the green. I missed the putt though... Still one of the most fun holes on that course and a nice set piece to finish off the front nine. I'll probably try to make another par 6 in the future but it is very tricky to make the second and third shot interesting especially with the 2K21 game mechanics making it quite easy to hit long balls compared to real life where you can have golfers playing with drastically different distance capabilities. I think that it would need some well-placed hazards to make you consider using a hybrid or long iron occasionally rather than just blasting driver or 3wd over and over again.

How the hell would you even make a sightline for a par 7?!?!?!
