Hi All Sorry for the extreme delay...life happens. Anyway, I've included a link below to all files used and a video BUT the video is 8x speed so I'll add/reply w/ detailed instructions. 1. I agree with sandgroper that 1/3 Arc Sec Data would be a better starting point BUT its in 10meter resolution which is not ideal for realistic play. 1a. So I'd recommend COMBINING the 1/3 Arc + Google Earth KMZ (especially on and around the greens for a much more realistic elevation profile! drive.google.com/drive/folders/1i4GHalQuhkE_bKnVQRxPr23IyYAi5W98?usp=sharingEnjoy, Nick

Hey Nick, thanks for this, it’s awesome work! I’ll have a look through the course and see how good the representation is. I played yesterday so I know every hump.

Of course. The version I made is very basic so its going to looks terrible for now but it works. You'll want to add a lot more Google Earth data points. Or that 1/3 Arc Data and combine them.
1. I'm working on a few things still but the instructions are pretty much done.
1a. Main issue I see is elevation anomolies so I'm trying some various interpolation methods to see if I can help you shortcut from having to create a ton of GE data points.
1b. When creating new GE data points, spend the most effort on and around the greens, sepcifically the green-fringe edge circling the green...then filling it in.
*GE data point elevation values for Western Au GC are different than I've seen before mapping the same way for USA coordinates I tested before; the elevations for W Au GC from GE jump up and down to match the bunkers and trees which can really throw off your final SIM course if you're not careful.

Update... Even better news for you. I found 5m ARC Second data for you. Added an updated "5m Arc" folder in the google shared drive with all the files. It looks great, but you need to spend time adding in your trees, water, fine tuning, etc. 5m ARC Second data and other data sets for Au here: avre.auscope.org.au/portal.auscope.org.au/Enjoy! And send me back the final course file when you're done. I'd love to play it.

Great stuff, I’ll have a go at the 5m data and see how good it comes out. I’m about to go on a holiday for 2 weeks and won’t have access to the designer, so it may have to wait till I’m back.

Test the 5m .course file I already included in the new shared folder add first. It's spot on from what I see but needs, trees, water, etc. -Video link hole 1 preview (I added some trees and water between 1/9): drive.google.com/file/d/1VOA8Z9XdjeAPO5z-__b9W8U90grxm_eU/view?usp=sharing-Also added this updated .course file to the shared drive Design Tool tip/trick: this fast clicker program for your mouse is pretty cool when adding objects instead of 1-by-1 or copy past; i set the action key to my "shift" keyboard key and can make trees and grass much easier sourceforge.net/projects/fastclicker/Enjoy holiday.

Hey Nick, yes the 5m course looks spot on. I quickly dropped in some water to see and it looks really good. Now I have to go back and redo the OSM as we've changed the 17th and 18th holes. You can see by the lighter shade of grass the sculpting we've done to remove the blindness going up 18 towards the clubhouse. Wow, I've got some work to do now! Cheers for the great work.

Odd, I don't see those in TGC19. Is that 2k21? I don't even keep that installed but...just based on those thumbnails they look terrible, and I expect they were just importing them, and publishing them untouched, and realizing it didn't work and sucked. Last I checked, there was LIDAR coverage for the course from 2008, but the scaling was off so when you put it in the designer it was like 2x the length/width, and only half the course fit in the plot. Never figured out how to get Chads tool to adjust it correctly There is coverage for half the course in a newer LIDAR file, but the 3rd that was away from the ocean isn't covered, because the LIDAR coverage was basically just scanning the coast line, and only half the course got hit. That north East 5 hole section is missing

Really odd, I'm searching for "Gear" and this is all I found. "Gear hart" finds nothing
