Anyone a big collector of Pokemon Cards? I haven't thought about those things in years and just came across a collector's Youtube channel that spurred my interest again. I was in the prime age range of 8-10 when Pokemon took off in the late 90s. By the early 2000s I had collected probably a couple hundred cards. Nothing too substantial but they were all the original base series English versions. For sure had some 1st edition and holographic cards. The only specific card I remember having was a 1st edition holographic Machamp that I believe would be fairly rare today. Did not have a Charizard unfortunately. I do remember seeing a holographic Charizard some kid brought to school. Might have even been 1st edition and if it was, could be worth tens of thousands of dollars today.
For the short time I've thought about these cards again and done research, sounds like card values are booming right now. Problem is I have no idea where my cards are I had as a kid. Went on to ebay and bought a couple packs to sort of get back into it.

I don't collect Pokemon anymore, but I was in the same boat as you, same age range and everything. I did own a holo Charizard, but it wasn't a 1st edition. I thought it was the coolest thing every though, lol. Owned several others but didn't keep thing in the greatest of condition, being a dumb kid and all. Ended up selling most of them in the early 2000s and gave the few I had left to my younger nephews a couple years back as they're big into it now.
I'm into sports cards, and that hobby has exploded as well in the last year or two. Boxes aren't even worth buying anymore they're so expensive lol.

Me and my friends would talk about the cards we just got all the time, I watched the tv show... This youtube guy has unopened boxes that are worth crazy amounts and he has a 1st edition holo Charizard that is signed by the original illustrator many people say is priceless.
