First off, thank you to everyone who made this contest possible. 

As the "Final" Seed in the contest, I know I have to bring it, so this is about as motivated as I have been to create a course. It has also been great to take my time and work on a bunch of LIDAR courses as I am attempting to complete a project over the next year or so to create every golf course in the state of Rhode Island (I'm insane). The WIP photos you see below are all without planting since this will be my first attempt at laying out and sculpting before planting.

The course's inspiration comes from the great northwest and will attempt to capture the feel of a "Resort" style courses with large fairways and greens. The course will also have a few unique features that I am hoping will capture the players attention. One feature in particular is the Par 3 4th which will play 230 yards/140 yards depending on Pin Position which will determine which green you play to. The 230 yard green will also be shared with the Par 5 15th. The Par 5 15th, will also have a small alternate green as well, so there will be a lot of variables depending on Pin location. Lastly, this WIP will have water in play on 14 holes, but my goal is for the player to barely notice.

Great start man! When you finish the planting, this is going to look fantastic. Between your WIP, Dario's greens, and Digital's creativity, it's highly improbable my course will see the second round. Keep up the great work sir!

As we approach the beginning of March, I am excited to begin revealing what I have been working on over the past few months. Kootenay Club (KOOT-nee) is a Resort style course located in the Southeast Region of BC. 

Today’s reveal is the logo and some teaser pictures of the course (Xbox screenshots so forgive the red lines). Beginning tomorrow I will be releasing one hole each day with a description ultimately leading to the courses final publish around March 18th.

As promised, hole by hole views begin today.

The 1st at Kootenay is a 465 yard Par 4 that requires a precise tee shot between several fairway bunkers. Having a good angle into the green is also important depending on where the pin is located. This slightly uphill long Par 4 gives you plenty of options out of the gate but requires two good shots to make par.

The 2nd hole at Kootenay is a downhill 610 yard Par 5 that can be reachable downwind and certainly from the upper teeing areas. The fairway begins to tighten around 300 yards and both sides of the landing area are squeezed by fairway bunkers. For your second shot you’ll have a choice of laying up short of the creek you can see below or getting as close as possible to the green and leaving yourself the correct angle to some of the more difficult pin placements. The green is very large and has some of the more severe undulations on the course.

Planting looks great, textures work really well (honestly don't know many people who use bright textures better) and I'm super excited for this one to release. Great work man - only a few days to go before the publish window opens!

Thanks! If they open the Publish Window early I will release more than one hole per day and get this thing out to the Public. I am excited for everyone to give it a run and I am hopeful the feel I was trying to capture works.

The 3rd Hole at Kootenay is a 410 yard Par 4 which requires a precise tee shot. Depending on the wind and tee placement, you can cut the corner and fly your tee shot 300 yards and drive the green, but beware of the obstacles in the way. When you reach the 3rd green you will be met by one of the more unique greens on the entire course. It requires you to find the correct segment of the green or a three putt is likely.

The fourth at Kootenay is one of the more unique holes on the golf course. With two green sites, the pin location for the day will determine which green you will play to. The right green will play 155 yards and will be smaller, while the left green will play around 220 yards and will share its surface with the 15th hole. Both green sites will pose separate challenges and require precise shots.

I've seen you attempt this two greens on one hole thingy... love it. Great work man!

This attempt was executed much differently than before. The 15th will also have two greens as well. The only issue here is setting the waypoint in the game and not leaving the player confused.

The 5th Hole at Kootenay is 462 Yards from the Tips and requires a precise tee shot between the pond and fairway bunkers.
