NextGen GD - USONIA LINKS

NextGen Golf Design's newest project is Usonia Links. The word "usonia" (or "usonian" as a style of house architecture) is used by Frank Lloyd Wright to refer to the United States in general and more specifically to his vision for the landscape as distinct and free of previous architectural conventions. I have always admired him and thought this was a vision that can also apply to golf course architecture. I always try to take a realistic approach to my designs and wanted to also add some more off course objects as well. The idea behind this project specifically is to create a top rated course in a location that is easily accessible by many as opposed to a far away place that is difficult to get to. I haven't figured out all of those specific yet but I have made some great progress on the course. It was slow going at first and I had gone back and forth on this and another project before settling on this design and going all in. My inspirations mostly come from the Streamsong courses as well as Trinity Forest.

I have been making steady progress on this design project and its morphing into something a little different than what I first sought out to do but I'm really liking it. I'm currently unhappy with about three holes which is ok. I have also done a lot of planting already which is different than my normal process so it will feel good on my brain to not get bogged down that in the latter stages of the build. I hope everyone else is plugging along with their designs, good vibes!

Thanks, things are going pretty strong as I head into the home stretch. I keep telling myself I don't have too much more planting to do until I open up the course and realize I do haha It's mostly small nitpicky planting though so it won't be too bad. Other than that I'm happy with what I have at this point and I'm excited to get hyperfocused these next couple of weeks leading into the publish window. I plan to do some streaming this weekend at some point so feel free to drop by or check out the VOD. Thanks for your interest!

In all likelihood this thing will be published early next week. I will actually have a lot of time in the next 4 days to work on the finishing touches and I'm motivated to get it done. There's a lot of really cool courses that have come out so far so I'm excited to get mine out into the mix.
