I think I am ready to publish my first course. It's probably not ready but I want to be able to play real time to figure out the worst of the glitches. If I publish, can I go back and revise and create a v2 and overwrite? If so, how does that work. Or is there a better way? Thanks.

I would publish a “Beta”. Rename your course something completely random like rbc6321 and publish it. Then you can play it in game and see what may need to be tweaked. After you finish testing go into your published courses and hit edit and it will bring it back into your unpublished tab. You can then make any adjustments and republish it under the correct name.
Not sure if you have a WIP thread but when you publish the Beta create a thread and people in the community are usually happy to play it to give you some additional feedback before publishing your final version. The key is to make your Beta name something that will never be found by searching a word.
Hope this helps!

You can go to play now and play any of your unpublished courses....It'll have real time wind and everything. I'd try that before you publish it.

Best way to test your course without publishing is go to Local Match / More Options / My Unpublished Courses. This saves you the trouble of publishing betas for your own testing and you can set the settings to whatever you want to test. Friends cannot play your unpublished courses so if you want someone's opinion you will have to publish a beta course like bmoregolfpro suggested.

Eh? You don't need to do any of this any more. You can play the course out of the designer and set winds etc - playtesting with wind was the reason we used to play out of local match. Only publish a beta if you want others' feedback or you're particularly worried about lag.

Thanks for the quick response. Is there a way to erase the published courses from the platform? So if I publish a beta and then make tweaks and want to republish? Play now also looks like a good option. Thank you.
The only reason I really need to publish is I need those that have played the same course to review on their own platform.

No, once you publish, it's there for good.
