Hello All,
Finishing up my first course design ever but I have a question on the whole hidden bunker item. Playing with some dramatic elevations changes is a reoccurable motiff of my course. Theres 3-4 holes where I purposfully have a green raised or lowered and it's creating some sightline issues I'm worried will be crtiqued.
On the raised Green you are hitting from a fairway over a body of water to a raised green area next to the club house (it's on Hole 9). Because this is a second shot of a Par 5, for those that don't take the layup they are hitting a wood. Even with a layup you are probably hitting a 6 at the least. Because of this I keep the green fairly flat which makes it impossible to layer the the heights of the bunkers enough to be visable from the fairway. You see a sliver but barely. The other one is a long par three. You see a sliver of the front greenside bunker but there's a hill in front of it (between a fairway bunker) I want people to use to roll onto the green with a wood. but again it blocks most of the front bunker unless you squint. To hit that bunker you have to carry the hill.
There's one (two if on one other hole is you are hitting from a particular spot on the fairway) that I have dropped green slightly from the fairway. Here I want the ability to roll the ball onto the green. The drop is not that significant but I've been lowering and using a flatten fuzzy brush trying to push that hill a bit back to make the front bunker visible but I feel I can't push it anymore without making this hill more drastic then I wish to (as it's pushed back towards the golfer) but you still can't really see the front bunker until you zoom into the hole.
This is a long winded ask of is this a big problem to the reviewer? There's intentionality in my sculpting and my bunker placement but it's hard to know if that is relayed accurately to the reviewer.
This is basically my last step, play test and fix sculpting before I publish which is pretty exciting. Just want to make a course people enjoy playing of all levels!
Thank You
