I've watched a bunch of tutorials and feel like I'm following the directions to the T, but I can not get the Landscape Raise tool to work. Wondering if there is some sort of bug with the configuration I'm using. I'm on a new iMac running this on google Stadia using a ps4 controller. Everything else in the course designer and game play seem to work fine. Just not the lower/raise tool. After I select a brush I'm trying to raise/lower using the R1/L1 buttons. Nothing happens. I tried clicking x first and that doesn't do anything either. I've tried starting new courses with multiple presets as well as a blank course. Any ideas? Anyone else have success creating a course playing this on google's Stadia on an iMac? Everything else in the game seems fine.

When you hold L1/R1, does the height of the brush change? In your screenshot, the height reads 0ft 0in. I can't tell, from that screenshot, whether the issue is that L1/R1 isn't raising the brush (seems like a button-mapping issue) or if a raised brush being applied has no effect on the terrain (an application issue).

The brush always shows 0 no matter where I hovered it over. So if I drag the brush around a hilly area it always reads 0. Also I wondered if it could be a button mapping issue, but key on the right does have it mapped to the L1 R1.

You may want to try using mouse/keyboard controls for the designer and see if that works.
You may also want to visit the 2K forums and report this issue there. It seems like the buttons don't raise/lower the brush. Do your controller's L1/R1 buttons work with other games on Stadia?

Hmmmm.... I use Stadia and don't have any issues with the tools at all.
One thing that you can try is to hit the settings menu and click on "assign controller". I know that Stadia can get finnicky in the sense that if you are on a computer and press one of the keys, it will detects that you are trying go keyboard and mouse and then it will adjust the control scheme.
Other than that, try backing out to the menu where you can select PLAYTEST, EDIT, SETTINGS and then go back in.

So I guess the PS4 controller just doesn't work with the L1-L2, but I was able to get it to work using the (function key) + page up/page down buttons. I ordered the Stadia controller which I'm assuming should fix that issue.
Thanks everyone for the help!
