Alex Bay, in the heart of the 1000 islands, is an old, simple 9 hole municipal golf course.
It's the home for the Alex Bay Purple Ghosts golf team.
Alexandria Bay is the home of Boldt's Castle, one of 10 true castles in the US.
It has approx 100 rooms, and was built back in the late 1890's and never quite finished.
It's history fills books and videos.
The 1000 Islands is the only archipelago in North America. Wonderful place to be from since it sits in the snow belt east of Lake Ontario.
