Thanks for posting the video of your technique. I had seen your other post and I didn't even know that the flick swing was even possible to execute with consistent accuracy. (In the past, anyway).
Honestly, the best way to get used to a full swing motion is to practice, practice, practice.
I recommend going to the driving range and take the time to try different techniques. Shift the controller in your hand and try to swing with the same motion. You will notice that the way you hold your controller will effect your swing plane.
While you are doing this casually take swings and take note of the tempo. Work towards consistency, you will eventually find a sweet spot with your swing plane AND your timing.

There are also ways to hold the stick. I put it between my middle finger and thumb. I think a lot of people do index finger and thumb. Some do thumb on top. You have to experiment to find what works. Good luck!

You could try changing your grip. Instead of your thumb being pretty bent and on top from what it looks like in your video, try moving it lower and not as bent so part of your thumb is behind the stick. Something like this... I used to use this for a long time (it’s not exact since I’m holding the controller one-handed for pic) You just have to find something that works. Go on the practice range and not only push the stick all the way up to the top, but actually HOLD the stick at the top for a second against the plastic. Think of it like holding a follow through. It might feel weird at first, but you’ll get used to it. That’s how you train yourself to not just flick it. Hope that helps! Keep at it.

I've always used the technique of holding the left thumb up against the right stick and the right thumb on top. In this way, and from a lot of practice, I can get pretty consistent straight planes.
