Really enjoyed the course. Even though the course area is kind of flat the sculpting is perfect and all the lines are super clean. I like what you did w the clubhouse, using the canvas wall for a better building look. I tried that on my last course but it was tough to get everything lined up. Favorite holes were probably 7,11 and the island stretch of holes 13 thru 15. The light reflection off the water on 13 is perfect. Should play great on CC level and in societies.

Forgot to change from the Xmas sweater before playing, and I swear my avatar started sweating in the tropical sun !
It is well-constructed, and I thought it played pretty easy - I was on Pro for it - all defaults, back tees, pin 1, winds were medium, I think. I got "whack-and-walk" complacent early on wit the generous landing areas, and started forgetting to check the overhead book view. Yikes ! Lost ball in the ocean at #11 will snap a guy out of that fast enough.
I'm not really a flat-course-loving player (nor a very good one on any course), though, so I can only cite the outstanding aesthetic & construction values, not 'flow' of the layout.
Very good stuff, sir.

This one has a really great look. Like many I'm not a fan on 90s architecture but this one works very nicely! Great job, well done.

11 days??? That´s about the time it takes me to select the right bench to place near a tee box.
I love how minimalist and clean this course is and yet it looks stunning visually. Playability is great, too. Well done Ben!

Ben you made a Beer League course, what.... But yeah, I basically shot -10 with the focus of a drunkard bumbling tourist who just spent $300 in green fees to play a Fazio course.
Great step out of your comfort zone! I absolutely despise that island green on hole 7 and I know you did it on purpose lol huh, just a solid course overall. I like to think that when it comes to using the designer or making a painting, what really separates a pro from a novice is the speed of the work; how quickly you can nail the basics. I can attempt to do the same as a novice but it takes me 5-10x as long just to get the same result. This is quite a flex you just made here!
My only criticism is it is I think it missed your mark on easiness being maybe one of the easiest courses I've played in a couple weeks, I'm pretty certain both as a ranger and as a CC player that I would average in double digits below par here unless winds were very high every round

Just played and loved it for it's simplicity. Highlight? Playing approaches into the x9 greens on the waters edge. Also loved the colour transition from areas of sand to water above sand to deeper water. Thank you Ben for your 11 day wonder. Feedback on difficulty? Not the toughest test going around. IMO key to this course were the approach shots. Greens are not roller coasters we have seen on recent new additions so if yhou get them close you can score low.

I agree that it’s definitely easy and I REALLY had to stop myself making the greens slope more. However, both Matt and I played last night and went round over par - I then shot -8 on Potunk without thinking. Funny how that works... My guess is that greens are Beer League but tee shots maybe more Kinetic level in spots. Thanks for the feedback. It was a lot of fun to make something different. Now on to the WC course 🙂

Not the typical Ben course, no swearing after hitting wrong part of the green and facing a 40 foot putt but still fun to play. I broke par which is very good for me but still had to think off the Tee. Greens didn't offer much challenge but still well done and fun. CC or Beer league the guys will enjoy this one, great job Bud.

Now on to the WC course 🙂 for reference I shot -10 first try on Potunk as well. Best round on Yarra is a -1. I agree with your assessment because the best parts of my game are my approach shots and my worst is putting (which is Potunks primary defense)! If I were to compare the two more in depth, Potunk for me allows for less of a miss than Saona; I can miss on the green here and still be fine, while if I miss my spot on Potunk, the greens will eat me alive. Larger misses are the reverse however as there is so much more hazard on Saona. These distinctions usually mean Potunk "should" play harder in windy conditions as micro-misses happen more often in high winds but larger misses will occur regardless. I hope this elaboration helps explain my point better. I would agree that this is still probably fine for CC as well and it is likely through both of our anecdotal experiences that Saona just suits my eye!

Did you get hold of my RM file? - The crowd stands in the clubhouse work really well when used as a balcony. Great minds etc Will give this a run whenever I can bring myself to play the game again. Looks great.....as usual.

Looks great.....as usual. Ha! It was never intentional - I was looking for the white walls to re-skin the ticket office to fit the area and happened on it by accident when playtesting. Definitely using that again in the future. Hope you enjoy when you do get to give it a spin.

Wow! If this is your impression of Fazio... I can't wait to see your interpretation of RTJ Jr. or Jack Nicklaus! In all seriousness. Damnit Ben! We need to see a weak spot from you. Maybe a desert theme or a course designed around a yellow harvest willow tree. Anything that doesn't make us look at our own courses like... Well done sir. As always.
