I joined the Board and am posting to say Thank You to all of those that run this site and participate.
I bought the game a few weeks ago and started on Pro-Am for my career as I hadn't played a golf game since the original Tiger Woods games many moons ago. I love golf and love the game so I was immediately hooked. On that difficulty level the game was easy once I had a few rounds under my belt but I knew there was more to offer from a challenge perspective. Somehow, I ran across the TGC Tour looking for what Societies were all about and jumped head first into this rabbit hole.
I got overly excited and jumped into my 1st qualifier this week without having ever played off of the Pro-Am setting. What a humbling/frustrating experience. I had never played the game without a shot meter. I shot 101/88/91/100 (+92) in the qualifier this week. However, I grinded out all 4 rounds in one day. I knew I wasn't going to qualify but wanted to gain as much experience as possible.
I then had the choice to give up or try to challenge myself to get a card. Then, I stumbled upon these forums in my search for information to assist. The advice has been so helpful and without it I probably would've just decided to give in and play My Career til I was bored and then put the game on a shelf.
Due to my competitive nature, I have been practicing quite a bit and taking alot of tips from this Board (club choices, course conditions, practice tips, etc.) to help me establish a base for my game. The insight provided here is such a huge help.
I have been somewhat obsessed with lowering my score over the past week and have made some great gains. It will probably take some more time and commitment to qualify but I am going to continue to grind it until it happens (CC-L is my only goal at this point).
Sorry for long-winded post but wanted to take the time to say Thank You for all the help you have given to this golf game hacker. You've given me hope I can get it done.
