-7 Left some birdies out there, found the water. Managed though to keep the ball playable most of the time.
-5 first tee seeing the wind thinking "oh this is going to be bad". Somehow held it together. Repeat water shot off the tea box, same hole haha. Also misjudged the wind with my hybrid - over the green, into the drink.
Not a lot of forgiveness at Wailele Island. Definitely one to start at least 2 cups of coffee deep.

No sorry allowed partner, all good. I played like sh%$ for the most part, too, especially in heaven round. Remembered why I'm actually a pretty poor partner in this setup, just can not wrap my head around putting on 144's (or slower), makes no sense why slow greens break more...oh well. Onto the next week, just have fun with it.

If my partner is absent this week I'll likely be dropping out. Just a heads up

If my partner is absent this week I'll likely be dropping out. Just a heads up OK Jim, your call, and I'll manage it wherever you land.
There is a chance holidays messed up his schedule and he will be back this week, if not I can advertise for a replacement or if you prefer we can drop your team.
All good however it goes.

Week 1 is officially in the books, and week 2 is open to play at The Watchtower. Reached by boat only this links style golf course is surrounded on 3 sides by rugged often treacherous terrain before the cliff faces rise up way above the uneven fairways giving a spectacular backdrop to many of the holes. Smaller outcrops of rock make for some interesting & beautiful green side views whilst much of the routing offers ocean vistas stretching for miles to the horizon. Constructed circa 1940 World War 2 watchtowers sprung up all along the English Scottish eastern coastline as defensive early warning posts. One such structure overlooks the golf course here lending its location to the title. As is typical on a coastal Scottish course the wind may really get up but the mossy greens are a little less glassy, pros and cons. Definitely a change from last weeks tropical environs so pack a jumper. Week 1 Results and Standings:

Maybe this Society can bring back a bit of my desire to play this game. Perfect

-5, +3 = -2.
Way better than last week, but I could have done so much better if I could have been able to have actual shots with good swing planes rather than just with practice swings in that second round. Really sucks to take swings when you're a solid 60 yards into the deep stuff. The course looked great, so I enjoyed looking at the struggle immensely.

Had an absolute putting nightmare today, lost strokes all over the shop and no idea why. Played a number of different tournaments over the day and missed so many putts I'd normally make with my eyes shut. Apologies VctryLnSprts I should have been 6 shots better than this and you'd have had a fair bit more to play with. -4 / -1 Off to chuck my putter in the sea.....
