The Country Club, Brookline (Championship) This has just been published after 4 months of hard work, this elite venue will host the 2022 US Open and has been set up accordingly. This historic course was famously the host of the 2013 US Open won by amateur golfer, Francis Ouimet and was immortalized in the film "The Greatest Game ever played". it was also the host of the infamous 1999 Ryder Cup where the US team staged a memorable fightback on the final day overcoming a 6 point deficit sparking wild scenes on the 17th green. The last major staged at this course was the 1988 US Open which was won by Curtis Strange in a playoff against Nick Faldo. The 2013 US Amateur was also held here which was won by Matt Fitzpatrick. There are three different tee sets to offer variety on the par 3's but to also offer a couple of different looks on the par 4's. The routing is the predicted one for the 2022 US Open which is expected to use 15 holes from the original 18 with 3 holes borrowed from the newer Primrose loop. I've set green speed to 164 (Fast) but they have been beta tested at 187 (Very Fast) should you wish to torture yourself! I will shortly be publishing the members routing also, which will be the original routing and will have no tournament objects or crowds.

The course looks amazing, and the detail is top-notch. It plays very well, too, and is a challenge worthy of the U.S. Open. I managed a 3-under 67 when I gave it a whirl. Was very pleased with that.
That said, on my PS4, I got some pretty intense slowdown/stuttering/framerate dips throughout my round. The worst offenses happened during the stretch of holes 5-7. But there were hiccups occasionally in other areas, too.
Still, my round was enjoyable, and you can definitely tell the work and care you put into building the course.

Yes unfortunately I think the attention to detail with the grass causes some lagging but I guess we will have to put it down to the pressure of the US Open playing havoc with the swing! When I release the members course (my real passion, not a massive fan of the tour course feel) I will perhaps thin out the grass areas a little to see if that helps the stuttering, failing that we will just wait till the new game comes out for an improved engine!

This is really well done. I ended up playing on 187s to try and get as authentic as possible to US Open conditions. Surprisingly I only had 1.29 PPH. Some of the green slopes were nuts though. Good luck holding this one lmao Overall though, I really enjoyed the course. Laid out very well and from the looks of it, is set up very true to form. Hopefully 2K doesn't give you sh%$ for the USGA stuff on the grandstands lol. Solid job and will definitely revisit this one.

I do Hope you consider a new members version without the grass, nearly impossible for me to play on my old xbox,Just hope others have more luck, seemed a fantastic course till the 3rd-4th hole, then the stuttering kicked in.
Saying that Players have finished it on xbox,so maybe its just the old xbox struggling.be interesting how it plays from a player on the new xbox.

Absolutely, I’m going to do the members routing this week which will be the best version - I always like courses in their natural form. Will keep the grass but will thin it out excessively to hopefully make it less stuttered

Thanks for putting in the effort here Pat, will definitely give it a spin later. Hard to believe it was 21 years ago I was walking these grounds during a the last practice round in '99.
Absolutely amazing history with this course. Fun personal note, had my one "Tiger Moment" here, can't recall exactly which hole. He was practicing with Tom Lehman for alternate shot. We had ran ahead and positioned ourselves right up on the ropes directly right of the tee box, not more than 20ft away. As the crowd that was following them gathered, we let a few kids up front right in front so they could see. Tiger and Tom show up, and Lehman goes to tee off as that was going to be his hole. Tiger is behind him to the left a little, so we all can see...the crowd quiets, Tom settles in...and just as he was about to take it back...the kid right in front of me goes "Tiger, aren't you going to hit one?!?"...everyone breaks out laughing, Tiger looks right at me probably thinking it was my kid says laughing "who said that?". Then Lehman looks over and said kiddingly, "Weeelll, I'm gonna hit one, don't you want to see that?". Silence. Everyone breaks up again. LOL.

The funny thing is I softened the slopes slightly on 3-4 holes because I couldn’t get a pin on them! HB cropped the USGA logo from the thumbnail on the course menu - I did that on purpose to see what would happen... I’ve got the course saved so can re-release under a different name if needed, also doing a members version which will be the original course and a bit easier

Played the official version and fared much better than the beta from a scoring standpoint. The heavy fescue planting remains an issue. #3 is almost unplayable on my ps4. I know that you're removing some grasses for the members version. I'd take out as much as possible. Everything else is top class. Greens seemed a little less severe than the beta as well. Fantastic job.

Yeah thought the course was top notch stuff but man there were a few holes where my ps4 just couldn't handle all the high grass and it made the round tough to get through from a scoring standpoint but the experience was still awesome and be able to feel like you've played this classic was super cool

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Every hole i played was unique and this so much looked like a real golf course. I played on the Series X and noticed very minimal stutter on #3 which I guess tells me how powerful this console is. As I played the hole after that I wondered if this would be an issue on older machines. If you do a different version of this course please let me know as I would love to use it on a Friday night stream. I will have someone with an original Xbone do a quick play test on this one to be sure. But this is A+++ work my friend.

Played the beta. Been wanting to give this a proper go for awhile now since you've published it. Tee to green I thought it was very challenging with US Open like course conditions. Played on Legend/USE (no aids). When I missed the fairway, which was a lot. Found myself getting it to wedge distances/pitch shots and was a grind saving par after par. Ended up +1, which was very satisfying. Can tell you put a lot of detail into it like your previous courses. Will have to give it another play on 187 greens like Lucas and see how that plays. Well done Paddy! 👍

Doing the members routing at the moment which will be au natural and am spending hours thinning out the grass planting to improve rendering (I’m on PS4 Pro so renders ok during my testing but have been well informed of the issues!), keep an eye on the course chats as will post when published

I think them having a stiffy at the surroundings allowed for some lag to be acceptable.
