Just played a nice relaxing round here at Big Turtle and now I'm hanging out on the deck with beverage in hand overlooking the 18th.. Great job if this is your first release, you definitely have some skills already. Played Pin 3 in med winds.
# 1 is a nice opening hole, approach shot was tricky and required some finesse right out of the gate. I'm not warmed up yet! #3 was a tough tee shot with a crosswind but I was able to hit he fairway. Nice set up with the fairway here. #4 damn muffin top green on 4, I swear on this game shorter putts on slow speeds break more. I can't wrap my mind around it. Sucker green on #9, damn, I thought with a 7 MPH tailwind I would reach for sure...Wrong. The retaining wall on #10 is well done. Didn't notice that little branch sticking out of the fairway on #13 until I hit my drive..Just barely cleared it, nice placement. #16 risk reward is done nicely, you can drive it down the hill but you better be careful. I wasn't.
Final thoughts: Again, really great effort for your first release. I know autumn is not an easy theme, especially when adding grass everywhere so good job there. You stuck with 1 or 2 standard bunkers shapes but it looks uniform thruout the course and I think it was a good choice. A few minor issues: A few of the tees were slanted, mostly negligible except #12 that was pretty slanted to the left when I needed tee shot to fade right. Also, greens were interesting and played pretty fair but they could have used another touch of the flat fuzzy brush. A few creases in the greens right around the cup were making things tough on a few short putts. I know it's not easy and I'm not very good at it either.
Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next release.

Guess i'll have to pay a little more attention to detail on those next time. Wasn't sure how hard the greens would play....i'm not very good at the game so most greens are difficult for me. Tried to put some fun tiers and ridges to make it exciting hitting approach shots. #4 would definitely be the #1 handicap. Tough tee shot and the green is almost unfair....but I wanted to challenge people Glad you enjoyed it! Already brainstorming ideas for my next course!

First course design!?!?! Wow, amazing. Hole #'s 9, 10 and 11 are beautiful. Just a superb autumn setting. This is very similar to a design I've been planning since the original TGC, that's why it's so impressive to me. My course is situated in Wisconsin in the Pickerel Lake Fen State Natural Area. I camped there for years starting back in 1978. Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! A few little details I wish I paid more attention to but pretty happy with it for my first course. Already starting to plan on my next course. Hoping to get that one approved for Tour play! Let me know if you finish your design and i'll give it a play!
