First, let me start by saying that this is excellent work. The planting, attention to surrounding detail and aesthetics are wonderful. I think we're all anticipating the final release.
I can honestly say that this is the hardest RCR I've played. I mean brutal. The fairway width on this track is lacking to say the least. But, that's how it is...
Given that fact, I personally believe that you should look to add a line of light rough around the fairways. The USGA employs graduated rough in most all of their championships, so it's not a deviation from reality. The distances on the par 4's are so long, that cambered fairways and runoffs will penalize good tee shots that miss the fairway by an inch.. Personally, I think it only needs to be about 1.5 yds (3.0 spline using the fairway edge as waypoint guide). That will still maintain major championship difficulty, but also offer equitable playability. Given the size of the greens, it will still be a magnificent test. I also think that it will look even better after adding the extra layer of turf definition.
The massive fescue planting on #2 stalled my PS4 and that's the first time it's been that choppy on any 2K course.
Other than that, it's perfect.

I played it yesterday and I agree with others here that it is fantastic. The lightning was the only thing not perfect. I was a little over the green on the 2nd and had to pitch in darkness. Then the putt back was also in darkness, could not see the hole if I remember correctly.

Haven't played this yet but judging by some of the comments the fairways have been tightend too much over the years. I'd try and dig up some old photo's and try to build them at their original width. Will play tonight.

Not going to lie... I really hate this course lol. Greens are tiny with horrific contouring, some tee shots are way too harsh and it just feels completely one dimensional. Looked up the history of course and with no surprise to me, found out that it had been "renovated" by Rees Jones. The greens are really bad though with all of them almost being a tiny oval shape with no angles or any sort of interest for exciting pins etc. I'd certainly tone down the green speed.

Thanks for all the comments everyone, the fairways are the same width as in real life (or google earth at least), I’ll be toning the greens down a lot for the members release which will be more about the scenery than toughness, the USGA version will still be a beast I’m afraid! As for light rough, I started with it but unfortunately the game still renders it poorly and creates squiggles as it’s a 2019 file and with all the heavy rough laid down I didn’t have an extra 20 hours to get it sorted! I’ll be upping the lighting slightly too Will hopefully publish both over the next week but thanks again for playing! Next course is St George’s Hill in the UK. Go check it out; www.stgeorgeshillgolfclub.co.uk/I personally think it’s one of the best courses in the world, a Harry Colt classic

PM me and we can sort that, if you look at my signature you’ll see I don’t do modern golf courses haha!

Great minds think alike... Thanks for the offer on Brookline but It's not for me. 👍

Thanks for the offer on Brookline but It's not for me. 👍 Hopefully Gill Hanse gets hold of it before 2022, he’s already cleared all the trees out but he needs a crack at the greens too! On the St George’s Hill website they have some of Colts initial designs, like they moved the 1st and 8th greens, I’m almost tempted to create them and use them as well as the current greens but that wouldn’t be very RCR now would it!
