Hey there folks,
We picked up GC19 last year but did not play it much but now have 2K21 PGA and it is likely our go to on the XBOX. I am planning to design our local club and have spent numerous hours in research for the various tools. I am planning to run Chads LiDAR tool with OSM to line up the course and then get into the nitty gritty. This will be my first course but I have extensive time with computer photo editing and video game terra forming so I am hoping that I will be able to not butcher the course.
Lets just make it one question for now as I think I have figured out how to use the OSM info with the tool.... SO (I think I saw an answer to this before I started but cant find it now)
Before I go out and buy TGC2019 for the PC, SOLELY, so that I can import the initial course to then move to 2K21,
Q: Will the course that I design on my PC be available for us to play on the XBOX once I have finished it and published it?
Thanks in advance
Edit: Sorry have another question.
I saw a post of someone having issues with the BING Sat Map for edits in OSM. I had a look and when I changed my initial map to ESRI it was off. Is there a recommended SAT map overlay that people find is the most accurate when they get into Chads Tool.
Thks

Note on OSM SAT overlay. I have found that BING was unreadable for me with regards to fine detail. ESRI World with "Clarity" is amazing, I can actually see the fringe on the green.
I hope that it transfers into Chads tool well...

Hi rch,
If you publish a course on 2K21 from the PC it will be usable on Xbox once you have published it. There is a delay but the courses are available cross platform. I never used TGC 2019 but I believe you need to publish from 2K21 on PC (since you are using Lidar) in order to play it on any other platform.
As for your OSM data. Keep in mind that Chad's tool does using the Bing maps API to do the overlay so even if you use ESRI to draw you need to do an adjustment in OSM to compensate and get it to line up to Bing. The lidarking does a great job of explaining this in his video - .

Hey Stubb,
Thanks for the info and the reply. As one would expect my questions were a little premature in that much of it I ended up learning using the tools and have managed to get OSM to work nicely with Chads tool. At least from my "expectation" the bunkers and everything are pretty much spot on with regards to the LiDAR processing as I took it from as I said, ESRI (i think).
Anyway, I have figured out many of my editing issues which had me running the LiDAR processing about 5 times last night but all in all it was the "auto" settings in the course, now I need to put in the time on the designer to make the course appealing.
I am hoping it will be a good course.
Thanks again
Best Regards
RCH

No worries. I spent a lot of timing this week learning the tools as well. I'm finally at my base course now and just finishing up the things the tool cant do. Good luck!
