Eucalypt National (2020 DT Contest Entry) - Now in PGA 2K23!

Located 35km to the east of Melbourne’s Sandbelt region lies the Dandenong Ranges. It is here that during Dr Alister MacKenzie’s tour of downunder during 1926, where he undertook a prolific design consultation trip that influenced the renovations of some 20 courses, including Royal Melbourne and Kingston Heath, would also be introduced to a site that would later become home to a course known as Australia’s Augusta!

During that historic trip MacKenzie partnered with 2 people that he trusted to carry out the works on his projects after his departure, these two men were Alex Russell and Mick Morcom. One of the projects involved turning that site in the Dandenong Ranges into a Championship caliber facility that would become known as Eucalypt National.

This spectacular 18-hole Par 72 championship course rises and dips through the serene and beautiful layout where each hole strategically takes advantage of the breathtakingly natural and undulating Australian bushland.

It’s great appeal lies in the fact that it will stimulate and challenge golfers of every standard. Once you have experienced the beauty and allure of Eucalypt National you will want to return again and again.

You definitely pulled off the Augusta vibe for sure. One of the greens (can't remember which, but it was definitely on the back 9) reminded me a lot of hole 9 at Augusta with the triple tiered green from back to front. The extra stuff around the course was great as well. The clubhouse, driving range, tennis courts, and other stuff really stood out and looked well done and not rushed. Very good job overall and another great addition to this contest.

Hey thanks Vic, you really are a master with the lense! Those shots are superb, especially the shot peering over the back of the 2nd hole and the last one. Let me know how you go playing mate, cheers

Yeah mate that will be in the works too, plenty of room to fit that in, I actually mocked up where all the stands will go whilst building the course so it will be a pretty fun exercise to bring that to life in the not too distant future.

Plays surprisingly harder than it looks (it looks hard already!) ended up in the fairway behind trees a lot here and had to play some crazy draws/fades into these greens. Amazing course you got here! It ate me alive
