The Broadmoor Mountain Course dates back to 1976 as an Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay design. In 2006 the Nicklaus Design Company, led by the Golden Bear's son Jack Jr., redesigned this par 72 layout and stretched it out to a jaw dropping 7637 yards (7557 in game). Featuring numerous elevated tees and the signature undulating green complexes the Nicklaus pen is known for, the Mountain course is a challenge for even the best of players. Sadly, due to landslides in 2016, this course was permanently closed in 2017 and has been slowly erased from the mountain side over the last couple of years. I had planned on only doing the 36 holes of the Broadmoor East and West courses based on the 2018 data and imagery I have, but during a small break in that project, I realized I also had data from 2012 that covered a good chunk of the Cheyenne mountain area. So with a workable group of elevation data and OSM having some fairly old satellite imagery available, I was able to put this together for one final round on a course that's life was cut all too short. I have set this course up with overgrown and punishing rough and manageable greens pretty much as they were in real life, so it should play challenging but fair from all tees and pin positions. Speaking of tees, make sure you play each set as it is easy to get lost going from one to another and each offers drastically different angles and site lines. I hope everyone finds the time to enjoy some rounds and here are a few photos.

This looks awesome! I worked out at The Broadmoor East during the 2018 season where they held the U.S. Senior Open. The mountain course was still shut down from a heavy rainstorm in 2015 or 2016, don't remember the exact year, but the ground started sliding under the course, crazy. Looking forward to playing this one! Would love to see the East course. Jack is quoted as saying it's the second toughest Greens he ever played, only Augusta was tougher. The site of his first amateur championship. Only 6 players broke par for the Senior U.S. Open, -3 won. Very tough golf course, maybe the best course in Colorado, it's certainly in the top 5.

My bad, you already have the background info from that storm.

They had a couple seasons of rain '12 and '16 that shut the mountain down. It was after the '16 storms that the landslides could no longer be ignored, it seriously looked like an earthquake had taken place by the entrance and near the driving range. Regarding the other courses, I have the East and West courses all laid out on a single plot within the game (pushing the memory and object count), and both courses play very close to the real thing. At this point the main delay with publishing these courses is properly building out all the Broadmoor buildings and stuff while keeping the files a manageable size. With the way the two courses intertwine it doesn't leave many options... but I'll figure it out eventually. Hope you enjoy your round on the Mountain course.

Excellent golf course, very difficult fairways and Greens, definitely a mountain course. I bet the Greens are ridiculous when the speed is turned up, you have them on slow and they're tough. Shot a 66, Master difficulty, made eagle on the par 4 2nd, fun course to play. Honestly think the West Course is better having played it in real life, but this is a great track. Thanks for creating it. Hopefully the East and West course get published too.

Glad you enjoyed it. All the Colorado mountain-type courses need the green speeds set fairly slow or they can become practically unplayable in the game. Speaking of... I just published Perry Park Country Club which is located in Larkspur and is another Colorado Mountain gem. The Broadmoor East and West courses will probably get published next week, I have Old American and Harborside International (Port and Starboard) ahead of them in the queue, but it isn't like my schedule is set in stone.
