I started the design with 2K19, but this is indeed my fist 2K21 original design.
This one is based on a design I made long ago for Links2003. The pitch of this design was to have a full view of the course from one end to the other. At this time, it was hard to achieve as the rendering was quite limited in terms of distance. Yet, the final Links2003 version was successful in that way and the 6th green could be seen from the 16th tee.
With 2K21, it is obviously easier and the course is even more widely visible from most places.
For that, there are no trees on the course. It is set in an "European Atlantic coast" environment, reminiscent of west Ireland, Scotland or Iceland : bare grassy land with stone walls.
Stone walls were the main bridle to start the design as they are essential to the first part of the course's look. I was waiting for stone wall objects in 2K21 but they did not come. Instead, I have to regret having only one stone usable to build my stone walls. They have a decent aspect from far, but they do look monotonous and built by some local giant troll when you get close. Anyway, the feel is good to me, as much I as consider to publish the course.
The course is not that difficult despite its length. Most of the long holes are downhill and considerably shorten the play. As always, you'll have to think a little before playing but there's nothing tricky there. One last thing : to avoid cutting some dog legs there is a simple local rule stating that all other fairways than the current hole's one are O.B. This cannot be done in 2K21, so I had to twist a little the design to prevent such cuts. However, the road running between the holes if O.B, a special danger on 17th.
Now enough said, I hope you will enjoy this design. I must say that my courses do not have much success in terms of visit. SO, I take the opportunity to warmly thank the dozen of aficionados who constantly play my courses at release, and I thank even more inflames47 for scheduling one of my courses and make it overcome the stunning 100 players threshold
Here are some views of the course. I'll post a recorded and commented round later.
