You can see two techniques for having rough around fairway bunkers in the following post by b101. tgctours.proboards.com/post/430384The video is very information, but also checkout his image, where he shows a splined figure-8 that handles this too and he explains in the thread why he prefers that method. Hope it helps like it did for me for this same issue. Like when it comes to doing some of the geometric shapes are you splining or using brushes? Rn doing good fairways in this style is really difficult for me. I don't understand how to get the rough around the bunkers how I want them and I struggle with making my fairways the proper shape. Like a good example would be how to do a principals nose bunker. How do I get the rough around the bunkers?

Hole #4 - Road 460 yds The angle of the tee shot has reverted back to the original design. Trees running down the right side of the fairway could come into play, just like the hotel at St. Andrews. Fairway bunkers and mounding have been expanded and the green complex has been completely rebuilt. The lines have been come much more angular and the road hole bunker will come into play. I will play test a little more before setting final pin placements. Green frontage moves hard from left to right, deflecting shots from the left side of the fairway, making an aggressive tee shot down the right side of the fairway necessary for a better chance at birdie to most pins. The "road to nowhere" remains left of the green and OB comes into play for a wayward approach.

Holes 5 - 7 are now completed, but I'll wait until the entire front 9 is totally done to post a visual recap of the work.
The low lying fescue areas on the course don't really come into play, and I've found that using a light brown pinestraw covered in a certain planted grass may look pretty good from both short and long distances (and the yardage book view). I'm going to add that before taking any more screenshots.

This project is about 95% done. I will save the screenshots and descriptions for the completed forum. The course will be renamed as well.
