PS4 ONLY - Match Play Championship

Hello All, I am creating a 32 Person Match Play Championship. Currently only open to PS4 Players. Hopefully there is enough buzz to fill the field fairly quickly.

Details:

This will be a 5 round / 32 person match play tournament. The event is open to ONLY PS4 Players and you must be registered and active in a society on the TGC Tours Website.

To register for the tournament open the Sign Up Sheet tab on the google sheet linked above and enter your information. DO NOT edit, remove, or change anyone else’s information. This will be monitored on a hidden sheet and any changes will be restored. Once we have 32 players registered I will post matchups and details on this forum and via email to each of you. Official dates will be set for each round once we reach 32 players and the event is full.

The higher seed (seeding explained below) will be required to create the match on PGA2K21. So, if you are the 15 seed playing the 2 seed, the 15 seed will be required to create the match and invite the 2 seed. The lower seed must validate that the course, difficulty settings, tees, and pins are all correct before entering the match. Seeding will be determined on your current status on the TGC Tours Website. I will view your profile and log your current tour and money list rank. Platinum players will be lower seeded than Elite, Kinetic, CC. For folks in the same tour, the higher you are on the money list the lower your seed. i.e. 2 players from Kinetic – money list #32 will be seed #4 while money list #38 will be seed #5 etc.

Once you and your opponent complete your match - BOTH the winner and loser must report the result to: [e-mail] – please provide both players PSN ID and final score

If I only receive notice from one person I will reach out to the other person who did not report the result.

In the essence of time - each round can be played over a 5 day span. Once matchups are set you and your opponent will have 5 days to agree to a day and time to play. If you are having trouble agreeing to a day and time with your opponent let me know. If multiple failed attempts are made the non-respondent will forfeit. If after 5 days both players have made an effort but could not find a time to play a coin flip will determine who advances.

Sure would love to give this a try! Love how your profile photo is the 18th at Oakmont and you are playing the event at Oakmont. 

One suggestion though - "Preferred time of play" is really relative to the person's timezone - I am not sure how it would work with people in Europe/US.

Funny how that worked out with me picking Oakmont eh!? If this goes well, we can try again at other courses!

Awesome, can't wait for this to get underway. When does the seeding take place? For example, if this takes a week or so to get going and we have moved up a tour.. or is it just based on your sign up date.

I am hoping it fills up fairly fast so I will just use what everyone entered when they signed up. If it ends up taking a week or two I will go back through and check your current ranking when the 32 person field fills.

When communicating with your opponent, decide who will create the private match. Prior to opening the party, make sure you use this course and settings:
To create the match: Make sure these settings are set BEFORE creating the party. If you don't your opponent will have other settings available to them

Round 3 can begin now (see the bracket below with everyone's PSN ID). Let's try to have all round 3 matches played and reported back to me by TUESDAY December 8th by 10:00pm ET (UTC -5). If anyone is able to twitch their match let me know, I think these should be some great matches.

Round 3 Rules:
Please reach out to your opponent via e-mail or PSN messenger to set the day and time to play your match. Once you play your match, I ask that the WINNER takes a screenshot or picture with your camera phone of the result and e-mail back to me at this address. If you are unable to connect with your opponent by Tuesday this week let me know. Any non-respondents will be DQ'd and eliminated from the tournament.
If your match finishes a tie after 18 holes, the tie breaker should be another 9 hole match with the same settings and course. Front 9 for the first playoff, if still tied, back 9 and keep rotating until someone wins.
