Hey guys and girls,
I apologize if I missed this answer somewhere already as I'm sure someone HAD to have asked this but how do you all approach putting from the fringe?
I've noticed a while ago that the distance interpretation changes from green to fringe, meaning if you have a 20 foot stroke on the green that same length putt would show say rough example but a 25 foot stroke on the fringe. Just trying to see if I'm missing something obvious/if anyone has figured out a better system than what I do, which is basically line up my putt, judge the speed, but then take 3-5 feet off of that depending on the distance. Only asking now cause my last comp round involved me missing I think 3 very makeable fringe putts due to wrong speed lol.
I usually just chip since I sometimes make more of those than putts it feels haha

The putting is messed up mate. A putt from the fringe can travel twice as far as a putt on the green for some strange reason. You would expect to have to add a few feet on- don't do that or you might end up back on the tee

My understanding is as follows, if you are playing on 144 greens and the fringe is 109 and the distance you want to hit the put is 20 feet use the following formula to get the correct distance : (20 /144)x 109.
