After the slight putting change update (two updates ago) been having difficulty gauging downhill putts. Prior to the patch I would subtract 2. 15 foot putt, 7 downhill = set marker at 10. Worked very well. Now however everything races past the hole with that. Did the calculation change ? For downhill putts I rely more on feel now as I do not believe I am setting the marker correctly. Any input would be much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

In addition to what you do, do you also look to see if the green still slopes past the hole? If it does and seems to gather speed, in your example above, I might take the marker down to 4 or 5. This has worked well for me. Also, I take the camera down to green level and see the slope better from the side and behind the hole. Hope that helps. ( also depends if it is fast or medium speed greens)

sroel908: Green firmness is more about how the ball interacts with the putting surface when you hit an approach into it. A soft green is more receptive, and will allow more backspin than a firm one. A firm green will have less bite and more rollout. Nov 18, 2024 15:57:00 GMT -5
