Hole 1: Where the Ocean Meets the Land
Distractions abound on this par 4 opener, what with the waves washing ashore to the right and the peanut gallery heckling you from the balconies of the condos to the left. If you’re a shy golfer, best to get your stage fright out of the way early though, right? Just be sure to choose the right stick. The landing zone is plenty big, but the palms left of the fairway have a habit of getting in the way of approach shots.
Hole 2: The Gecko
This little guy will calm your nerves before heading on.
Hole 3: John Silver’s Revengeance
The first of a string of strategic decisions awaits. Do you tee off down the right leg of the fairway or hold up on the stump to the left? Let the wind and pin-placement guide you.
Hole 4: Not a Drop to Drink
Water, water, everywhere on this long par 4, so before careful not to put your ball in the drink if you don’t want to take a drop. Haha. Get it? See what I did there?
Hole 5: Coconut Island
The big decision comes on the second shot here. Can you make the green in two or will you need a pitstop on Coconut Island?
Hole 6: Red Sky at Night
The tiered green offers hours of entertainment for the onlookers at Sailor’s Delight Marina and Ale House next door. Careful not to take too much club off the tee or that retaining wall can cause serious problems.
Hole 7: Wild (Sea)Horses
Be sure to stop at Taytom Ranch to make a reservation for a sunset horseback ride along the beach after your round. Trust me, you’ll thank me that you did.
Hole 8: Alligator Alley
This from WikiHow:
“The best way to stay safe in these animal's habitat is to give the creatures space and exercise caution around water where they may live. In the event that you are attacked, you may be able to survive if you fight back strategically.”
We concur.

Hole 9: Smooth Sailing
Finally, no water on this hole. Get your land-legs back and finish out the front with a straight-forward hole that offers a great scoring opportunity.
Hole 10: Jumbo Shrimp
Too long for a par3, too short for a par4. This green may be drivable depending on conditions, but it can still tank your scoring opportunity if your putting skills aren’t up to snuff.
Hole 11: Captain Hook’s Cove
Don’t be too aggressive taking on this pirate or you may find yourself walking the plank.
Hole 12: The Black Spot
Okay, so the spot is made of sand and isn’t black, but it could be the mark of death for your round if you take this seemingly innocuous hole for granted.
Hole 13: The Blue Lagoon
It’s not a very big lagoon, but it is right in the middle of the fairway. I suppose we could have filled it in, but what fun would that be?
Hole 14: Big Wave
Hopefully you can ride this wave to a birdie instead of hanging 10.
Hole 15: High Tide Rising
The first par 5 of the back 9, and the longest hole on the course is a bit of an uphill climb but a birdie is certainly reasonable, if not an eagle.
Hole 16: Great White
Daaa-dump. Daaa-dump. Daaa-dump-dump-dump-dump. There’s danger lurking just beneath the surface of this hole and it can sneak up and bite you if you’re not careful. That, and the green kinda looks like a shark tooth.
Hole 17: The Ocean’s Roar
You’re almost home and should hear the surf calling from just beyond the green of this long par 3
Hole 18: Where the Sky Kisses the Sea
Back where it all began, with the mighty Atlantic to your right and nosy neighbors to your left, critiquing every shot. As if they can do better! If your getting flack from anyone at The Dune’s Bar and Grille just before the turn on the other hand, know that they’ve probably been where you are. Stop in with your scorecard afterwards and get a free drink on us while you exchange war stories
Creator's note: This is my second course for TGC 2019 and is published simply as Marisand Island. While I absolutely love my first (Perry's Wood), I definitely think I've made some improvements here, specifically in regards to routing and strategy. This one is designed and tested around the white tees with beginner clubs but special attention was paid to make sure blue and black will play just about the same with Pro and Master clubs. I know there aren't many people still playing 2019, but if anyone is and wants to give this a spin and provide feedback, it would be GREATLY appreciated. If not, I'll be importing both this and Perry's Wood to 2k21 in just about a month. I'd also like to thank all the great designers out there for the inspiration they provide and especially Crazycanuck1985, whose tutorials have shown me the way. Enjoy.
