I usually play with the distance control meter on and distance assist off. Trying to qualify was an awakening experience. I don't understand how to putt without the meter. The top right always says 144 feet. If I'm trying to putt 25 feet, that would mean a 17% swing. But if I hit a 17% swing sometimes it goes 5 feet, sometimes it goes 15 feet, sometimes it goes 55 feet. How can you putt if you don't know what the scale is for the putter? Seems to be similar for pitches too. I had a 66 yard pitch that I wanted to go 33 yards. I hit a perfect 50% shot but it went about 8 yards.
I am using a mouse. No haptic feedback or vibration. I cannot use a controller as I am missing some fingers. Any help in calculating these swing % would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you turn haptic feedback on it is easy (put the marker where you want the distance and the rumble tells you to swing). You can do practice swings and look for visual clues on how far back to swing to get the white distance on the feedback. Finally cseanny has found he can have just one swing and moving the marker in or out changes the percentages which you then use to determine distances (I have been unable to make this work on PC, but it might be my technique).

I play mouse and keyboard because of a disability. no option for haptic feedback, unfortunately.

The swing power vs. distance relationship is not 1:1, it is an exponential function. Some nice person developed a Google chart which shows the relationship for putting, Putting Chart , I do not remember who it was. this may help you. That exponential power vs. distance applies also to all other swings (normal, pitches, etc.) - a 50% swing will probably only go maybe 20 - 30% as far as a 100%.

For me it was just practice. Over time I got used to how far back to pull the club for different distances and uphill/downhill, different green speeds etc. Most times now I hit it about the right speed to reach the hole without being too fast that it jumps over it. Whether it goes in or not is another story...

I play just be feel and have gotten pretty accurate with 45% success from 20-feet. It just takes time and repetition

After playing about 150 rounds now I play by feel just like in real life. It's very satisfying nailing a breaking putt or hitting it to inside 5m from 100 out or nailing a big drive between fairway traps. I am playing Pro so it might be time to step it up a difficulty level and start the process of improving again. I do find this to be the most satisfying golf game I've played over the years. The ball physics are a little quesitonable at times, i.e. some strange flights from rough or when using a flop shot.

I’m master but what I did was create a 18 hole flat putting course in designer. Nothing but green and from 5 to 45 feet holes. Then I can change the green speed and get the feel on flat surfaces for any speed. It’s a base of knowledge. Not that I use it a lot but man 144 kills me. Faster is better

I prefer faster greens too, not just in this game but in real life too. Most courses I play are relatively slow, probably medium. Played three courses earlier this year with lightning quick greens, loved it. The shorter the stroke the less that can go wrong with it I reckon 😂

Haven't spent anytime on putting percentages as I play by feel and watch my avatar club positioning. As to pitching I charted out all my clubs and all the % for each club and also charted full loft. There is NO 50% shot, the lowest % is 60% With my clubs, a LW will go 70 yards on a normal pitch. If I want to hit it to around 35 yds or 50%, I would set up my % at around 85% normal pitch shot. That will send the ball to 30 yards with a roll out to around 38 yards. Since I have my clubs mapped out, if I wanted to hit the 35 yds. I would probably use the LW at 86% but I would also fully loft my club. That gets me to 30 yds. in the air with a rollout to around 35 yds. Or you could go as high as a 6 iron 60% on normal pitch. That gets you 18 in the air yds. with a rollout to 35 yds. or a 5 iron 60%, that will be 19 in the air, rollout to 36 yds. Oh, I use a mouse so no vibrations here.
