Seaton Carew Brabazon 23We now found ourselves crossing the Atlantic to the North East of England to play Seaton Carew Brabazon by our very own designer Les Sangster. Seaton Carew is the tenth oldest course in England. Originally founded in 1874 by Dr Duncan McCuaig as a 14 hole under the name of Durham and Yorkshire Golf Club. In 1891, 18 holes were introduced and at this time the name Seaton Carew Golf Club was born Another doctor called MacKenzie came along in 1925 and modified the layout. Ten years later, Dr Alister MacKenzie went on to design Augusta National, home of the Masters. Continuing the doctor theme, the 3rd hole called “Doctor”, a short par three, remains as per its original design and serves as a tribute to Dr McCuaig, Seaton Carew’s founder. There are now 22 holes at Seaton Carew, following Frank Pennink’s addition of four new holes. The Old course is the original MacKenzie design, The championship Brabazen course includes all four Pennink holes, and the Micklem layout contains three of the Pennink holes. There are also the less regularly used Bishop and New configurations. This week we will be playing the Championship Brabazon configuration which played host to the Brabazon Trophy in 1985 (English Amateur Stroke Play Championship), producing a tie for first place between Peter Baker and Roger Roper. I played against Roger Roper in my low handicap days when I was a decent golfer. Little known fact

Real Ale AceI gave asyoudo64 my log in details and let him play my rounds today. Left some out there. lol? I was speed golfing. Not really paying attention thinking of what I was going to do in 76 when done my rounds here. Took the shot, then took it to the brow, (rubbing my forehead and eyes trying to come out of the morning fog. Used to be a saying way back in the day before it was known as a face palm. In my circle of deviants lol) Wasn't even looking at the screen and I heard John. Then chipped in for eagle the next hole. Well there goes all my golf luck for the rest of the year. Back to mediocrity from now on.

I am having a hard time enjoying Kinetic. So to my team I apologize. Just give me the Wooden Spoon already..

These showed upon my Facebook timeline today 10 years since I worked there Rockliffe Hall GC as a course marshal. Tee shot on the 4th the green is on the right of the picture your safe line of the tee is at the bunkers. 3rd green approach My red chariot I used to zip round the course on 😊 on a sunny day I used to think they’re paying me for this it was great. The best job I’ve ever had free driving range and rounds, lunch was free as well.

Holy cow Charlie, that's a score! I hope that's an indication of how recovered you are feeling, or the quality of the medication you've been on. 😂
