Hello Friends, Jim Nance here shockingly back again for another season of exciting Brew Crew action. A season of change ushers in six new captains while returning one Lord Vader and one Scary Mary to lead our competing teams. Name changes, former captains on different teams while their old teams carried on, former captains on their old teams but no longer captains. Itβs all madness in what is sure to be a wild season. We also have a new Sportsbook sponsor as DraftBings went bankrupt after last season. The season opens at the Beirut Shootout hosted by Al Barsha Palms. The course proved to be quite the birdiefest for the Crew as the scores were incredibly low. Letβs jump into the action shall we? *Match lines provided by BINGBet* Dickens Cider Casuals v The Cupid Stunts (-3.5) Last seasonβs bottom dwellers faced off in a week 1 showdown that promised to be full of fireworks. The Casuals jumped out to the early lead with a sweep of the opening day festivities. However the Stunts would not go quietly into the night as they took advantage of the Casualsβ excessive downing of Cider to celebrate their day 1 success to come back and sweep the second day and pull back even on the match. Day 3 continued the close affair with a split and on day 4 the Stuntsβ top players came to play to give them the early advantage. But Captain Thomas and Paraic mounted a furious comeback to secure the draw Rum Raiders v Hobgoblins (-2.5) Perennial powerhouse Rum Raiders open with a tough matchup against the Hobgoblins. The Raiders shockingly had a mutiny against Captain Ben that saw him walk the plank with Trevor taking command of The Pearl to resume the championship chase. Things on the Deathstar remained unchanged at the top although Lord Vader was successfully able to bring Padme back. A day 1 split gave the new look Raiders a bit of hope but The Force proved to be too strong for The Pearl as the Hobgoblins came back to crush the Raiders on day 2 to stretch the lead. A day 3 split kept the Raiders in the competition but the Hobgoblins tightened the vice on day 4 taking 3 of the 4 matches to complete their dominating victory. Blame it on the Goose (-1.5) v Menace to Sobriety Newcomers Goose take on last seasonβs 4th place Menace. Interesting that The Cobra Chicken would name his team after a Goose. One might wonder if a Duck was involved? One might also wonder if a change to Cobra Poultry is warranted? But I digress. Letβs stop this fowl talk and take a look at their opponents. New look Menace determined Arturo was the root cause for the teamβs instability last season and set the only other member that played every week last season, Nigel, to captain the ship. Goose sought to make a statement announcing their entry to the league with a day 1 sweep. Menace was able to pull out a halve to open day 2 before taking the second match of the day to give themselves a fighting chance at the halfway mark. A day 3 split kept Menace in it but they would need a day 4 comeback. Menace proved to be a menace on day 4 as they took points in every match winning two outright and drawing the remaining two to secure the comeback victory Bear Necessities (-1.5) v Bourbon Bandits Bear Necessities enters the league this season drawing a matchup against the defending champ Bandits. With Bear leading the way, Necessities found themselves looking for ways to forget about worry and strife so they could play loose. The Bandits return for another season after winning the title. New captain Scott showed he felt very secure in his new role by not only keeping form captain Bing on the team but also drafting Season of Ross champion Ross to the squad. Proving to be the tightest match at the halfway point, this matchup saw each team split the opening two days. Day 3 proved to be more of the same between these two squads as a third consecutive split day was in order. The Bandits were able to briefly grab the lead on day 4 as they found themselves victorious in the opening two matches. However, much like the rest of the matchup, the Necessities came back at the buzzer to secure the draw Team Scoreboard: Dickens Cider Casuals 10 v 10 The Cupid Stunts (-3.5) Rum Raiders 6 v 14 Hobgoblins (-2.5) Blame it on the Goose (-1.5) 9 v 11 Menace to Sobriety Bear Necessities (-1.5) 10 v 10 Bourbon Bandits Now, let have a look at our Next Gen Stats powered by AWS: The 60 Under Down Under Club -Ross Nixon (-68) -Chris Grzesik (-65) The Semi-Centennial Club -Charles Lindbergh, Sean Prowse (-59) -Kevin Everard (-53) -Ben Tough (-54) -CF Gibson (-51) -Jason Dowey (-50) Highest Team Score -Bear Necessities (-194) Top Individual -See above clubs π Low Individual Round R1 - Chris Grzesik (-18) R2 - Chris Grzesik (-20) R3 -Sean Prowse, Ross Nixon (-17) R4 -Ross Nixon (-17) Team Points Leaders (8) -Carol Santapaula Better Luck Next Week Blob Award -David Heron OFTR Highest Scorer -Kevin Everhard (32) -Ross Nixon (30) -Tomi Pihlman, Charles Lindbergh (24) Onward! Pub Crawl Week 2 Art Vandelay Loved the course and had a pretty good first 3 rounds. Had a game crash as I was swinging on the 6th hole in Round 4. Rebooted game and I was being offered a drop for going in the water π§ π² No excuses for the other bogey on 13. 3 putts will do that to you. Another 3 putt par on 15 and so endeth the story. Apologies, Bandits for a poor Matchplay Round. I'm sure Ben SkyBlueBen won't find it tough to beat me. Good luck everyone and... Onwards Bandits π»

One For The Road Art VandelayMissed a couple of silly putts as I tired after the Sunday morning marathon. 7th round in a row perhaps one too far. Pretty solid generally though.

Sliding down the street to confiscate the cat and knitting needles then heading in for my marathon of "lets get this over with"
Then it will be do I race, do I go drive around the city in Cyberpunk and pick fights with gangs, or go head to the jungle in Avatar. Could always jump into a plane in MSFS. So many options nowadays. Don't know what to do.

I'd just like to say as someone who's happy to pass comment on the courses we are offered in TGCT that I've thoroughly enjoyed my pixel golf this morning on three excellent courses, so thanks to b101 for West Yarra GC in Elite, retteach for North Of The Border Tour in Challenge Circuit and Doe Coba for The Matumba in One For The Road. An absolute pleasure to play Gents and well set up by the schedulers...
