Art Vandelay You gotta love how this game manages to keep things interesting After a good third round with no major issues other than the expected occasional fast or slow, round four things were back to Horrible. First the game took a long time loading, and transition between holes were slow - but even worse was that on the first 6 holes every single shot was slow. I decided to quit the round and take a smoke hoping it would get better Starting up the game again went smoother this time and the interesting part was that even though my shots were still slow, I now manged to add only getting 92-94 percent power Suddenly on hole 10 my drive was perfect After that posistive surprise, for the rest of the round most shots were fast so I still wasn't able to get anyway near a pin. Somhow I started holing puts from 30+ feet so still got a few birdies. I did have 3 'perfects' on approach shots putting me 7-8 feet from the cup - hole 13, 14 and 18. I made the put on 14 but in classic Coba short put style missed the other two on the edge. Now I am not really sure if I look forward to the OFTR or not At the end of the day this was my disappointing worst score:

Well well, seems only Arturo the Great (aka Art Vandelay ) gets a "sorry" for first week draw - what about his opponent who suddenly has to play a champion Looking forward to the battle Golden Boy We must play LIVE my Danish Doe! With Carol and Charlie providing insight and commentary. Onward!

GO Bear Necessities!

Art Vandelay My scorecard for my schizo-OFTR. Ball striking and tempo was super. Didn't miss a green in regulation and only had one bad drive with a fast on the short 17th into the green bunker, so very pleased with that However, my 37 puts was painful

The rest (CC, OFTR) If only R2 wasn't the odd one out in CC. OFTR needs to be more like it is here this season, big scores were MIA but it would be nice to be like this every week instead of the rollercoaster that I tend to be. Art Vandelay

Pub Sprawl Week 1, Round 4 or A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Birdiefest So…at the Birdiefest door, I was asked for my invitation, which I produced and… It was my old Dickens Cider Casuals invitation. The doorman took one look and said “Sorry, chap, but the party, she’s all full up with Dickens Cider. I’m afraid you can’t come in.” At any rate, Art Vandelay, my round reflected and there is no chance I took this match. Round 4 match play - Paraic mrbump wins 4&3 Let’s go (Brew) Crew!!!

Well Bandits (and Art Vandelay), I played decently in R3: -10, and mediocre in R4: As usual, finished middle of the 4-round pack in CC-H.
But I did not enjoy the success of so many people in OFTR (and I think the Bandits has a good chance of winning the OFTR round!). I was in the water twice (and I was trying to be careful). It was a fun course though! And I did get an eagle on the par 4 #7.
Go Bandits!!

No More for the Road Really cool course, so good on you, schedulers! Sadly, my first go round was the live one and… I’ll make it easy on you, Art Vandelay2 points In other news… your Columbus (Brew) Crew are the 2023 MLS Cup Champions, taking down LAFC 2-1 in a real corker of a match! ⚫️⚽️🟡

Week 2 – One for the Road
Week 2 of the season is the Modified Stableford format which takes us to The Matumba, a fictional Delta theme course with a par of 71 which was created by our very own, Doe Coba.
Course Description:
The Matumba 18 holes Par 71 course is a tropical course located in a coastline delta. It is running over several connected islands and course is only accessible by boat. All around the course you will see water with tall grass and narrow waterways, but water only rarely comes into play. There are good opportunities for both birdies and eagles even though pars and bogey are not far away. The standard setup is firm fairways, moderate green firmness, and a green speed of 151. There are 4 different tees from 7.225 yards to 6.550 yards. So, get comfortable and have a go at this course with holes surrounded by beautiful flowers, tall grass, and water. You could also stay for a while and set yourself up with your favorite beverage in one of the lovely rental houses located in the tall grass and the waterfront.
Good luck golfers.
Signed off by Mr Fixtures.
