Public Scrawl, Rounds 1 & 2 Round 1: Holy cow, what's this? I got off to the roaring start of my life, -8 at the turn and feeling in sync with the world. And then I fell victim to the classic Potential Great Round Nervous Awareness, and immediately started throwing my golf ball into whatever sand, bushes or coleslaw I could locate. The regular birdie putts of the front 9 turned into twitchy par saves on the back 9, but by some miracle I escaped without a bogey and tripped over the clubhouse steps to card -10. Round 2: More evidence that I'm finding the front 9 more manageable than the back 9 as I got to the turn in -7, and started to feel my sausage fingers go clammy as they gripped the controller. I fluffed the par 5 #10 and suspected I was destined to get forcibly bundled into the caboose of the par train again, but this time I managed to get out of my own head a little more successfully, and finished with -12. Implausibly, as I type these words I am co-leader in CC-C.. Still hunting for that one additional promo mark I need to get me to CC-B....  Art Vandelay |

First, huge thanks to Art Vandelay for quickly finding me a substitute 3 weeks ago. And thanks to ss11 Snow11 (who I couldn't find on the forum to tag) for doing a fine job making the team better than I would have.

Pub Crawl- week 5 1/2 No comment. Embarrassing stuff and no idea how this happened. Not where I should be at. Every round I played outside R2 of Elite (which was too late to prevent damage there) has been god awful, one day I feel great about the game I have and the next I'm shooting myself down the ranks. Art Vandelay So I played fairly well in the first two rounds despite not scoring better. I played rounds 3/4 today in a hurry because I have to go out of town for work in an hour and it showed.   OFTR A lot of pars, but a pretty solid round for a change

R3 : -4
Very frustrating round, with 4 birdies and 14 pars ... The putter was dead cold. I had like 4 or 5 burnt edges, where the ball is turning around the hole but not falling inside

That was a solid round, with iron shots right on spot, which made my poor putting irelevant  |

Cut time coming (looks like I am making it in CC-F, thanks for asking) and I finally realize it is NOT the next deadline time on the main page of TGCT but actually an additional 4 hours added to that (I know there is a time zone shift for a lot of Yanks this weekend, but that does not apply to the mid week cut this time). SO, in a little over 9 hours from now I will need onesies and/or twosies from the following: IGolfBad (who is constantly trying to teach me about this deadline but am finally able to learn from him) Bogey Bonocore thetaffman (Extension noted) prowse00 On3PmpWond3r Onward! |
