Art VandelayLatex summary. Actually thought I played alright today. Using the RCR google map thingy to do an offseason tour around the UK. Started with the nearest course to my home, great little warm up for the Latex. Played ok, but let down on the 2nd round. Found the par train and got to comfortable. Was chasing TimB on the early board but a silly bogey on the 16th last round, threw all chances of a lead.

Art Vandelay LATEX CUP -- Was on the edge of my seat all the way just hoping to land on the short stuff. Guess I am bit rusty, too (not -14 rusty but more like -1 rusty  ). A Kickass Course Violinguy69 !! Good Stuff!!

LatEx Cup Art Vandelay Started off incredibly rough bogeying 3 of the first 5 holes.  But got it turned around eventually to post a respectable score.  Continued rolling through round two with a couple hiccups and found myself standing on hole 12 with my handicap erased. And that is where it all went sideways. Tee shot found the fairway, second shot found the drink.  I still don’t understand why drop zones can’t just be established by the designer but I digress. Dropping on the other side of the pond I splashed down in,  my next shot came up short but dry, and also right behind a rock. Next shot bounced off said rock back into the water. Once again having to drop from across the pond  and properly angry at this point  I smashed my shot to make sure it got over. A missed putt later and I found myself with a 9 on a par 5. Was able to get most of it back by the end of the round but the damage was done and the LatEx Cup was likely out reach. An uninspired 4th round was the capper on a what could’ve been event  |

Art VandelayLatex Cup As the host and honoree, trying to accomplish all my host and honoree duties AND play pixel gawlf is daunting. BUT I am a professional and so I tried my best, glad handing all...the autographs...kissing babies...and the blue hairs, OH those minxes kept me on my toes with all their oogling and pinching. Round 1 Slow start, +1 after Humphing the 4th then caught the chirp train and made the turn at -3 (not great but trending positively). Inward half was clean but barren, a lone chirp in 13 helped me card a -4 that I was quite happy with all things considered. Round 2 Another slow start much slower as I was give the job of conductor on the par train only to be booted off at the intersection of Humphville and 8th. Turned at +1, everything looking grim, then BAM...chirp-iggle-chirp early on then a chirp-chirp finish to card -5. Not sure how that happened, but a small improvement is better than none. Onward! Round 3 Moving day and again nothing to start but a surprise chirp on 3. 5 & 6 yield similar results and I close the outward half with one more to card -4. Solid iron play helped in this one as I had trouble finding the fairways. 4 chirps and an iggle inward carded an outward -6 for a clean -10 and put me on level for the Cup. Last round is on the house, but will it be feast or famine? Onward indeed! Round 4 Usually I would have stopped after the first two, but I was feeling good and then round 3 happened...no WAY I stop now! Whether that was the right decision or not, I don't know, but not much happened in the last round. 4 chirps, 14 pars, a couple of nice par saves and maybe a missed putt or two. Still in the words of Simon Morris SAM I finished in profit!  Nice challenging course and conditions, tip of the hat to Chuck Violinguy69 for designing it and Ross asyoudo64 and Tim TimB for rangering and the lovely Carol inflames47 for setting. Great idea Sean prowse00, perfect way to finish a TBC season. Onward!

I had to pick a name I could remember so my mothers name was Lilly and I won’t forget that, she’s also a redhead like my mum who also played golf. ❤️ |
