Look what arrived today.  Can't bring myself to open it. It feels like I'm being unfaithful to my long time partner Miss Xbox. I feel dirty 😪. Probably get over it though by the weekend🤣. Will always remain an Xboxer for the Crew though. Maybe EA Golf game for PS5. That's alright isn't it??  |

Week 1 Round 3 or Pallin’ Around with Palo Hitched a ride onto the back of Konsta’s Palo cart to enjoy the awesome presence of a master at work  Felt a little saucy myself, as the round scores outnumbered the square scores, and even stumbled upon an eagle’s nest.  Kept it on the right side of par for a change, Art Vandelay, and might have helped the Ciders capture another round.  Rd 3: -4  Off I go to take on one of the many Pauls that I just can’t seem to keep track of.  |

Week 1 Round 4 or Lit Matches or Blinding Sunshine? This match between myself and Paul the Davies @taffman shows why the Tier Four pairings are sent out onto the course before it officially opens.  Spotted Paul a fair 3-hole lead after bumbling my way through the first four, and immediately started to pen my concession speech.  Yet somehow I was able to pull even after 15, then immediately coughed it up by missing the green from the tee of the par 3 16, and all looked lost.  But what’s this? A cursory peek at Paul’s final card showed back to back 6s to finish his round? There was hope! Salvaging a bogey 5 on #17 pulled things to even, then a routine birdie on the par 5 closing hole sealed things for me, Art Vandelay. Paul may have won the battle for mediocrity, but I won the war for Dickens Cider points.  With 4th round +4, I was the victor at 1 up. Oddly, the course still wasn’t officially open by the time we finished. Nary a beer cart to be found.  |

Week 1 OTFR or Take Me Down to Moo Cow Farm The moo cows were in absentia on this day, as were my golf skills. As such, I took to playing this round as my alter ego, Joe Sheisty, and let me tell you, Joe did NOT disappoint. Art Vandelay, I just don’t have the heart to tell Joe that a score below zero is not preferred in Stableford events. Go easy on him - he’s still learning.  |

Nice course to start the day. I confessed I played with an aviator grey ball to mitigate a bit the green speed (7.9 is a bit fast for me  ). At the end, sunk an 11 m put for birdie to finish the round under par, which is quite unusual for me, as putting is definitively not my strong suit atm.

Putting killed me on this round, with 32 puts on the round, a 3 put bogey within 5 m, and like 5 or 6 missed puts within 1 to 2 m. The good news, can't really get worse than that, the only way is up . Sorry about that team.
