I really am struggling. I just don’t have a clue where the ball will go every shot I'm the same way and was even in 21. There are times I just say F it, why bother aiming or anything the game is just going to do what it wants to do. And I usually hole out or some at that point lol But yeah, it can seem so bloody random at times and can be very frustrating. I wish they had a different swing mechanic or had this one tuned and equal for all players. Being server, platform and system dependent makes it feel like a lottery at times

This probably sounds awful but I’m happy everyone seems to be struggling right now on this game with the odd exception. Honestly, I find the learning curve faster than for 2K21.
By the way, I found my comparison image about trees in some TGC versions, here it is extended with 2K23 :
P.S. : I was so cool in the TGC2 times

I've been fine at Master so far but always getting a couple of blow up holes per round. Generally involving the short stuff. This is HB/2K though. We're playing the beta atm!

I just experienced a crash in the designer, return to OS. I never experienced that in 2K21. Nothing lost luckily... I ported my two gems over from 21…..I’m going to enter that Rookie Designing Contest that opened up Oct 15. But seriously, no gems from me but fun to design as I learn more each day….I have not touched my courses since the new game opened up…I was just happy it ported over easily and I can still work on it as I’ve been doing for a while now and didn’t want to start over.

I’ve even managed to hit my drive to the red tee box or about 50 yards off the tee nox ….. that’s how random I’m having this .
Absolutely no intention of playing TGC tours if this is how it’s going to be.
Frustration

Frustration I'm that last person to give advice given how much I suck but. not sure what level you are but an idea to try is. Bump down to beginner level. Go grind career at an easy setting. And just grind it out to level up to get those skill points. Then add them to wherever you think you need them most. Once you get all levels open, then put points in there, they are the always on perks that can really help. I've seen others say the game gets easier once you open get your points all added. I'm not going to go that far, as my Elite events results may just be a fluke, but I found I was playing better and not focusing on my swing as much, things just felt easier. This is after a +17 in the cc event. I had points to use and I think I put one on my putter (7'th slot) and a couple on my woods (transition boost) Then went to the event and everything seemed a tad easier. I don't know, maybe its just me hallucinating. Will know more as I play more. Done for the day. Will see what tomorrow brings

I’ve honestly seen no difference score wise between pro and master but it is early days. I’ve used master almost exclusively since I started hoping to improve because I feel that’s what the tours are going to select. My scores have improved slowly I’m playing the career mode to maximise the vc and usually on those rounds I’m doing ok but will get a blow up hole that takes me to the shot limit. I’ve still not broken par yet. I’m slowly learning what the putting needs but getting it ingrained after four games where we putted everything a similar way is proving difficult

I like Master difficulty better because of the challenge but the blowup holes will bite ya. I’ll keep sending the ball back and forth as the pins all seem to be very close to slopes. And my approaches always finds a slope and it goes off of the green. Chipping is comfortable now. I’m even splashing easier as it does stop quicker than the chip but it is also a partial and takes some time to get the feel of it. Right now I’m 60/40 with chips/splash out of bunkers but I feel I’ll be splashing more as I gain more trust with it.

Frustration Go to the range and just keep hitting your master clubs for about 10-15 swings quickly then switch to pro as is it will help. Everybody will have their own learning curve with the new game… Just have fun and don’t take it too seriously.

Brew Crew Exhibition @ First Pint - First Round Barkeep - you need to clear the lines, mate! You served me up a glass of foam. Me, after carding my first bird on the 17th to drop down to +15 It can only get better, right, Art Vandelay? Points for not rage quitting? Rd 1: +16

Having put through a couple dozen rounds on the new game I'm afraid I'm going to have to bow out of the Brew Crew. It's been a blast and I appreciate all the behind the scenes work that is put in. This version is just a complete downgrade from 2k21 and I don't think I'm going to be able to grind it out each week unless some major patches come out. That said if you're ever in a pinch and need a sub let me know, I'll still be around the forums as I plan on designing a few more tracks. Cheers. Art Vandelay SkyBlueBen prowse00
