Singles play was eliminated, rounds 1-3 were team play while our new and exciting 4th round is match play. There are only 6 teams this season with many of the Captains returning to take the helm. Art Vandelay is now our score keeper for all TGC and OFTR rounds while Ben is handling the Knockout scoring. katana22 still co-ordinates the draft while Mark Lawrence is Editor and chief for the Cyder Cup and has enlisted a full staff of reporters while Dan Blanton is our course scheduler. We thank you all for your contributions to making this Community a fun place to be with all involved.
Rum Raiders vs Dregs from the KegsAfter losing Season 8 , Capt. Ashton had a bit of strategy going into S8  This proved helpful to the team as they put up a good fight to Win Round 1-3 and grab a 2 point lead going into Round 4 match play. Capt. Paul of the Dregs gave his team his own speech to fire up the boys going into 4th round match play after only being down by 2pts   This had some effect as they were able to match the Raiders in points 6/6, but not enough to bring home a victory. When all said and done, the Butt Pirates awarded Capt. Paul Bradford with a 6 pack of their hidden stash for taking full points in w1 and getting off to a smashing start of the season while Les Sangster recorded a blob for The Rum Bums.  Rum Raiders Win 16-14Dickens Cider Casuals vs Grip it and Sip itCapt. Mark of the Dick Boys had a rough start to his season, like slipping in the shower, he totally lost his grip and ended up with a Blob for his team.  Capt. Vandelay was not a bit worried as he planned ahead.  Grip it Boys took the lead going into 4th round match play 11-7 Match up of the week was between 2 rivals, Palo and Deathstar. Having played these boys many a time in Alt Match scenarios, I knew this was going to be a battle to the end  Both were in perfect form after practicing the only way those Nordic men know how  ![]() Both were disappointed they did not beat one another and the match ended all square. Grip it and Sip it win 17-13First hole in one award goes to Palo Randy zooby97 Doo also was the only other player to win full points for his team Bourbon Bandits vs Coggins CRAKpotsShocker of the week Capt. Mark B of the Bourbon Bandits was found drinking heavily in celebration of winning most points for the week crushing Capt. Ken's Coggins CRAKpots Kenny boy asked his teammates what the heck happened as that was a complete and total  Dumbfounded and confused the boys could only come up with one possibility, that something must have been in the cookies Inflames shared so willingly because they we were ready and able to take them down when the inevitable happened.  Feeling the effects of Inflames baking skills they could only must 5 points from 4th round Match play. Bourbon Bandits win 22-8OFTR Modified Stableford at Rio Villegas, Argentina
Bourbon Bandits had best over Stableford added another 6 pts to the weekly total
This leaves Bourbon Bandits with a comfortable lead of 8.5 pts going to Week 2
Coggin's CRAKheads managed to settle down and grab 2nd place and grab a well needed 5 pts for the team.
Congrats to those who advanced to the next phase of Knockouts, no need to mention who as Ben has covered that in his post.
I will end by saying this has been a fun week and look forward to seeing how it all pans out in the end.

Been playing the Promo event a few holes at a time as a warm up for my Brew Crew rounds. Decided to jump in and finish off Round 1. It seems the less I try the better I do. Scared to play the following rounds now as it can only go downhill. Had one of those rounds where every bounce went in my favour and the chipping Gods were partying! Why can't I do this in CC??  I had one of those rounds too. Went -10 in round 1 and shot -8 the rest of the tourney 😂 |

Brilliant Ben. I think I'm about -1 after 9 holes in the promo event. Fortunately doing okay in the CC Rounds 🤞 As suspected it went downhill after that. Took me another 34 holes to add a further 16 shots. Sitting at the end of Round 3 at -34. As the last thing I need is promotion I'm not too concerned. Just having a bit of fun. |

I have no problem doing the next 4 weeks after that I will be a very part time player... mainy loosing interest particularly in the TGCT set up. |

Oh, I forgot, you bash your rounds out quickly so you must have played a few rounds already, lol…. And anyway, with all of the tiers pretty full now promotions will be less than what we had last season. I know they like to have a couple openings for Plat for some of the Elite players or anybody else who crushes the Promo Event. I usually play my Promo events mid week. You are basically playing with the houses money so be aggressive when you can. |
