Art Vandelay @wupta Americas Rounds 1 and 2 On a positive note, at least the scores were in the negative numbers this week. Still should’ve been better overall Round 1: Round 2:

Where's TimB when you need him? Apologies for the quickness of the greens. Knockout scheduling especially when it is designer showcase based, will use default greens so it plays as designer intended. Can't say I'm particularly looking forward to this now as I struggle with anything over 155. Speaking of which.... Long Island Cup vs cobrachickenI'd already had a practice round here, so I knew what to expect. Knowing what to expect and doing something about it turn out to be somewhat different things though, and I watched several times as my ball rolled off the green, no matter which club I was hitting the ball with. It was like trying to land a shot on Yul Brynner's head. Anyway, the front 9 was a particular struggle and my wobbly tempo was of zero assistance, but the back 9 was a substantial improvement. I don't know if it'll be good enough to avoid being pecked to death by the Cobra Chicken, but I'm semi-satisfied with -7 on a course with antagonistic greens. 😆 That said, I think it's a very nice course and I enjoyed playing it. The pleasure was of similar masochism levels to deliberately wobbling a loose tooth or giving a cat a bath, but it was never dull. Over to you, Marcus! prowse00Thanks for a good laugh, there's a value in that too 👀. (I'm not laughing at your scores, by the way.)

Art Vandelay WutpaBova manages a bogey free round, get the flagons out, should have been double figures under par as well, but mystery breaks on some putts still appears plus the odd big fast.

S11, W2: Americas R1+2 @ Dollar ExtrusionThere's been a whole spread of dauntingly amazing scores being posted from this course, so I knew it was there for the taking. I'd had a practice here too so I also knew that getting out of position could quickly turn a birdie possibility into a bogey, especially on such a risk/reward track. So, being a guy who likes variety, I sprinkled a little bit of all of that across my R1 card. I did seem to be hacking out of the cabbage quite a bit, which was disappointing, and a score of -10 is never bad, but it coulda/shoulda been a more bountiful harvest. R2 was heading in a similar direction until I finally found the 'turbo boost' switch on the back 9, which salvaged the round and gave me an enjoyable score of -15. Chuffin' 'ell! Art VandelayWutpa
