I played my second CC-A event of the season this week first one picked up two demo marks this week I’m sat at -16 at the half waypoint with -7, -9 under rounds so I’ve played reasonably well this week but I still think I will miss the cut.

Art Vandelay WutpaAmerica's R1 + R2 Been getting used to the new controller over the last week and I think I have finally got there. Really is surprising a difference a new controller makes for all shots. Hardest part was finding how much more sensitive putting is. Was overcooking a lot of putts to begin with. Anyhow I think I have finally got there. After scoring -19 in the opening round of johnnybladef Lidar Tour last night, I felt good going into the America's. At the very least was consistent over the two rounds. Disappointed though to bogey the par 5 on the front. Note to self, If you feel the driver off the floor is going to be a hit or miss, don't do it!

Long Island
That one was a tough cookie, especially with this green speed. Anyhow, I might have been a tad overconservative, and not make things too hard for Jason ...

Well, you could tell I haven't played the knockout for a few seasons. It took me five minutes to find where the society was.
I agree with Les on this one. I enjoyed the course -- maybe it was the lighting because often the lighting makes ordinary courses look special -- but the green speed was far too fast for these greens, in my humble opinion, especially where there was little room for error in even keeping the ball on the green. Hole 12 was just ping pong for me. I can't even say I played badly tee to green; but my score was handicapped by not being able to even get decently struck shots anywhere near the hole, and I'm sure Les had the same.
Anyway, my round:
Thank you, my friend, for not throwing in the towel but putting me to proof. With the way my game has been, I wasn't confident at all. I have great respect for you and wish you all the best.

Thank you sir I appreciate you backing me up about the green speeds, when you literally putt off 4 greens you know they are to fast. I did enjoy the course it looked well designed but didn’t suit fast greens to me. I played the CC rounds this week and the first two rounds were 138 if I remember right I don’t think I’ve seen a green speed over 170 so I was at a disadvantage right from the off. I’m not playing the game as much and that doesn’t help me at all either. Well played Chris 👏👏

Where's TimB when you need him? Apologies for the quickness of the greens. Knockout scheduling especially when it is designer showcase based, will use default greens so it plays as designer intended. Can't say I'm particularly looking forward to this now as I struggle with anything over 155.

I couldn’t deal with them in CC we rarely see speeds over 160

Can't say I'm particularly looking forward to this now as I struggle with anything over 155. Speaking of which.... Long Island Cup vs cobrachickenI'd already had a practice round here, so I knew what to expect. Knowing what to expect and doing something about it turn out to be somewhat different things though, and I watched several times as my ball rolled off the green, no matter which club I was hitting the ball with. It was like trying to land a shot on Yul Brynner's head. Anyway, the front 9 was a particular struggle and my wobbly tempo was of zero assistance, but the back 9 was a substantial improvement. I don't know if it'll be good enough to avoid being pecked to death by the Cobra Chicken, but I'm semi-satisfied with -7 on a course with antagonistic greens. 😆 That said, I think it's a very nice course and I enjoyed playing it. The pleasure was of similar masochism levels to deliberately wobbling a loose tooth or giving a cat a bath, but it was never dull. Over to you, Marcus! prowse00

Art Vandelay & WutpaApologies to my team mates on The Chuffing Chuggers but round 1 was unfortunately a repeat of last weeks round 1 - little control over my tempo and zero control over the putting pace resulted in a lot of heavy rough, 7 three-puts and a four-put, and therefore a very bad score on this otherwise easy course. I hope for better control next round but I honestly do not have high expectations at the moment. Season 11 Week 2 Round 1 Americas

prowse00 Knockout: From championship match last season to 1st round ousting. Well played Wutpa Thanks Marcus. The match was a lot closer than those totals made it appear. We were all square after 12 holes, and I was still only 1 Up after 16. Tough course.
