Now let’s get to our One for the Road course of the week: Bac Son Valley, Vietnam. Designed by former full time member Ken Wise, the course is a fictional, tropical themed, par 71 course spanning 7257 yards. This course was Ken’s entry to the 2021 National Treasure contest. Lady Luck gave him Vietnam and he found his inspiration in the rural area of Northern Vietnam called Bac Son Valley about 150kms NNE of Hanoi and even closer to the Chinese border. Fictional Back Story: The district cooperative in this secluded part of the Bac Son Valley decided to capitalize on the growing Chinese golf tourism market by giving up a number of rice fields to become tees, fairways and greens for their golf course passion project. The bulk of the holes at Bac Son Valley play amongst working fields and are very geometric as a result. However there are a few more traditional jungle-lined holes heading into the foothills of the karst mountains. Whether you’ve never visited or are just leaving, the locals will always tell you to “Come Bak Son”!
Let’s get out to the course for continuing match coverage and remember Friends, GRAB THOSE SCORECARDS!
